Rabbis launch campaign to lift Israeli blockade of Gaza
(3 comments) I am very pleased to invite you to participate in Taanit Tzedek-Jewish Fast for Gaza, the campaign that we launched yesterday. This is the first rabbinical response to the suffering in Gaza. Although rabbis have taken the lead in this initiative, we invite all Jews, all people of faith and all people of conscience to join us.

Tony Judt poses difficult questions
(3 comments) Yesterday, Tony Judt, the British historian, published a very important op-ed in the New York Times about the settlements. Today Ha'aretz reports that the Israeli government Israel has just authorized the building of 300 new homes in the West Bank! What will it take to get Israel to stop the expansion of settlements? Is it only the threat of a cut in aid or an actual aid cut that will convince the Israeli government...?
