John Root lives and works in an intentional community with people with disabilities. He discovered early on that what gives meaning to our perceptions is determined by the concept we use to understand them. Finding the concept that best explains the perception requires rejecting the popular concepts from the culture and searching for the concept that that provides the most comprehensive explanation, the most satisfying understanding. In 1985 he developed the idea of Community Supported Agriculture and participated in the founding of Indian Line Farm (the first CSA) and wrote all the promotional materials for it. More recently he has been pursuing monetary reform, leading a seminar called: Just Abundance: The Case for Constitutional Money. Understanding the nature of money is paramount for shifting the paradigm. The current system, which makes us all debt slaves, promotes war, and destroys the environment is based on money as credit or debt. to be continued
