Jenny is originally from south Alabama and her family and relatives live in Mobile, Fairhope and on the Mississippi and Louisiana Gulf Coast. She is happily married to Dan Tenpas, who is a non-profit Recycling Coordinator. She first became involved with the environmental movement as a New College student at the University of Alabama. While she was studying core UA classes and participating in New College seminars around her depth study "Global Environmental Action," she was actively engaged in the efforts an environmental advocacy group on campus and through that experience was on her way to becoming the advocate that she is today. She was mentored by Dr. Ed Passerini, professor, solar car inventor and environmental genius.
After Jenny graduated with honors, she did some brief work with contract archeological projects around the state then went to work and play in the Bankhead National Forest at Camp McDowell as an Environmental Educator. Taking students on trips to the Sipsey Wilderness Jenny taught students about the natural world and how the choices we make every day relate to it.

She loves writing, gardening, urban farming, photography, advocacy and most of all--her sweet husband.

She had been recently laid off of her dream job and is currently looking for her next dream job.
