I've been forever interested in politics, economics and law - as everyone should be if we want to survive as species. At present, the American democracy is dysfunctional due to a glaring conflict of interest between serving the voters and serving the oligarchy. The two political parties have become a single, two-headed monster guarding the house of lobbyists. Why would a politician serve the public when the lobbyists provide better paying jobs before or after the term? Why would the public matter to him when his campaign money come from he same lobbyists? Why wouldn't he pass laws against you when all you can do about it is to vote him out of public office and into the much cosier office provided by his masters?
