The economic crisis is fueled by internal contradictions of capitalism, not simply a lack of regulation; it demands to be deregulated. The crisis is a result of decades of stagnating wages and increasing costs, the solution to which was debt, which we can't pay off because our wages aren't high enough. With declining profits and the erosion of the American consumer class, investors have turned to bubbles and speculation to maximize profits. We need a socialized economy that is run by and for the people who work and consume within it; not an elite class that profits from our labor.
