Vocation: To selfishly serve the interests of youths under a unifying masterframe of, "Peace on Earth, Goodwill to [All]." (*See note below.) The only partially-original thought (partly inspired by Stephen Covey, Gandhi, MLK, Jr., but most of all, by Bill Gates' commitment to Peace): A path to a better world will involve trinary programming as populations are made up of +1, 0, and -1. In most conflicts +1 and -1 are usually very evident. Unfortunately, the greatest power resides in 0 or the inert -- those that are caught in the midst of those contesting for power and control. Proudest accomplishments: Inspired by my young sons' questions at dinner on 9/11, and their subsequent empowered acts, earned a Master of Arts in International Peace Studies from the United Nations mandated University for Peace (UPEACE, www.upeace.org). Witness: Fortunate to witness the coming together of over 100 students, mostly youths, from every region of the world, to explore the horrors of Pandora's Box for hope. After initially demonstrating loud, boisterous, confident and myopic positions, they learned, grew, listened, and, by the friction, fire, tension, pressure and conflict, coalesced as an Integrity. IPS, UPEACE Curriculum included: Prevention of Deadly Conflict, Political Economy, Survey Methods, Systems Analysis, The Psychology of Violence, Light Arms, Weapons of Mass Destruction, Nuclear Proliferation, Conflict Resolution, Human Security and Urban Violence, Specialization = Environmental Security. Heros: Sharon (Israel), Petrina (Iceland), Israel (Sierra Leone), Buky & Norman (Nigeria), Muzy (Uzbekistan), Gulyam & Takmina (Tajikistan), Adib (Lebonon), Grace (Uganda). Bright Lights: Kyle and Becca. Board of Directors: Gandhi, Lao Tzu, MLK, Jr, Don Quixote, and Mark Twain (the man who made sense of it all).
