Volunteer a little time and make a big difference
I'm a retired programmer. I've never tried to "locate" myself too far into either conservative or liberal camps. I'm in the "I want the truth" camp. I'm in favor of anything that keeps the planet green while not bankrupting the economy, and I have a great deal of faith in human ingenuity. I don't believe We, The People, should be bailing out banks or car manufacturers. They got where they are by being greedy beyond most people's comprehension, and should be having to pay their own damn way out.

I think it's utterly shameful that our President and Congress are willing to throw 700BILLION of our hard-earned tax dollars at fixing a problem these bloodsuckers brought on themselves. Instead of "golden parachutes" they need some "steel bars" surrounding them.

If our government had their heads on straight, they'd just issue a $3000 check to every adult in the country and let us give it to the banks in the ordinary way. Some of them would fail, but for the most part they'd do fine. And as to the architects of "subprime mortgages", I'd say go make some room in Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary for them. Let's see how well they like being screwed.
