Are free markets efficient? Who lends trillions on a commodity with trifling equity margins? Having run the Savings and Loan Industry into the ground and created a crisis in mortgages, Bush, the GOP and Wall Street want social security privatized complete with commissions and a guarantee that retirement savings will increase in value, always and forever.
