I am a 66 yrs old Pakistani who has been working and living in the Arabian Gulf since 1965. I schooled at an American Jesuit School and colleged at a Cambridge Brotherhood College, both in India. Moved to East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) in 1964 after miraculously escaping being thrown alive into a steel mill boiler by Hindus at Jamshedpur in 1964. Moved from East to West Pakistan early 1965 after surviving a bloody language riot in Chittagong in which local Bengalis targeted Urdu speaking refugees like me and West Pakistanis AND the Urdu speaking Pakistani Army targeted the Bengali rioters. Late March 1965 the Indians invaded West Pakistan. I called it QUITS! Early 1966, I accepted a job offer from Saudi Arabia. I have done well in the Arabian Gulf Region, professionally and privately. My career has been in Marketing and Sales and my private achievements include a wonderful Saudi Spouse of 4 decades and 3 daughters, 1 son and 9 grandchildren, all Saudi nationals. 2 of my daughters are Ph.D's from UK in IT and teach at Saudi universities. Daughter #3 is finishing her M.Sc in IT. My son is in 2nd year B.A planning to become a Lawyer. I love reading (heavy stuff) and writing. A few of my Op-Ed's have seen print in regional English dailies. I am a LIBERAL, although I do not cherish being branded in US terminology. I hate double talk, double standards, spin, spin doctors, demonizers and imperialists. That's me!
