Born in 1945, I have been in the field of education since I was 23; I became a librarian over 20 years ago. I have been an elementary classroom teacher, a junior and senior high art teacher and I have been a professor of Library Science at the university level. I am now a librarian in a special library supporting the arts in the city school system, a system which includes many charter schools. I am a member of the teachers union and I am supporting a move which removes the poor methods of testing from schools and reinstitutes a broad curriculum.
