A Radical Confession of Hope Regarding Obama
(2 comments)
Now don't get me wrong, I expect to be as critical of Obama as anyone -- and I have serious condemnation for many things he's already said and done. But it's all about the soft landing and the possibility that someone on top of the political hog pile might actually have the desire, and now the ability, to sort things out and get the world on a better track. I'm guardedly optimistic, and here's a list of reasons why...

Crash & Collapse: This is more than a depression.
This is an examination of the current economic crisis written by someone who accurately predicted it. It offers a comparison with the market crash of 1929 but also shows how the present situation is unique (and likely to bring about even more dire consequences than the Great Depression of the 1930's).

Dystopia Now! How bad does it have to get?
Yes... Orwell was right, Huxley was 70 years ahead of his time, Eisenhower wasn't joking about the military-industrial complex, and statements attributed to Chief Seattle were spot on. Does anybody really care and is anything going to be done to remedy the situation?

This is partially a review of the new Batman movie (The Dark Knight), as well as a look at the questionable actions and the cultural impact of the comic book character. Bruce Wayne/Batman is clearly a villain, not a hero.

Be Prepared for Police Violence at the RNC Protest
(1 comments)
A few weeks ago I wrote a piece entitled "Thoughts on the Upcoming RNC Protests." In that article I provided a history of past convention protests, reasons why people will be protesting this convention, and I gave some tips on how to prepare for it if you plan on attending. This current essay is in response to some of the few critiques of that piece which appeared around the web.

The Impeachment of Bush is Imminent, Just in Time
(4 comments)
Congressmen Wexler & Kucinich (and others), along with Ralph Nader and more, are finally going to get the impeachment they've been working for. But opinion polls show that the average citizen wants to see this impeachment happen too. (Whistle-blower Scott McClellan is largely to thank for spilling the insider beans.) This piece is a look back at the Bush years with some surprising links not for the faint of heart.

Scott McClellan and the Impetus for Impeachment
(5 comments)
If congress does not act on the widespread calls for impeachment now, after the revelations of this former administration insider, we will know, definitively, that they are not beholden to the will of the public whom they claim to represent. Scott McClellan's personal confession, along with his expose of the Bush White House, make this the time for justice.
