Trends and Possible Future Developments in Asia Asia is becoming once again, after a gap of two and a half centuries, the economic power-house of the world and is gaining the corresponding political and cultural influence. Five major trends and emerging developments can be singled and used to help us predict whether there will be intra-Asian conflicts or agreement and how that will shape the future international order.

THE ASTANA GLOBAL ECONOMIC FORUM - A Review The 6th Astana Forum in Kazakhstan from the 22nd to the 24th of May 2013 was held together with the World Anti-Crisis Conference (WACC) under the auspices of UN. A number of Nobel Prize Laureates and statesmen gathered to thrash out strategies to move out of the enduring economic crisis. One of the most original initiatives was the plan for a Transeurasian Development Corridor (RAZVITIE)as a catalyst for a new economic model.

Alternatives for global organization in the new century This paper was presented at the eighth World Public Forum Dialogue of Civilizations, held in the island of Rhodes, Greece, from the 7th to the 11th of October 2010. It looks at major problems confronting mankind today and reviews the various solutions that are being tried or advocated. It breaks the alternative strategies in three kinds: modernist, archaicist and archeo-futuristic and proposes the third as our age's synthesis.

Diplomacy as an Expression of Civilization; The legacies of China and India This paper was presented at a seminar on international relations hosted by the Chinese Institute of Foreign Affairs and the World Public Forum Dialogue of Cilizations, in Beijing on July 13th, 2010. It makes the case for reviving the theories and praxis of diplomacy of ancient Taoist-Confucean China and Hindu-Buddhist India, grounded in the philosophies and cosmologies of those fast rising countries, for a new world order.
