I've written three novels for Simon & Schuster (BETSY AND THE EMPEROR, BLACK POWDER, and THE CURSE OF THE ROMANOVS), and three other books for Harcourt and other publishers. BETSY AND THE EMPEROR is in development as a movie with Al Pacinio attached to star, as reported in "Variety". My book about Abraham Lincoln and his children, MR. LINCOLN'S BOYS, will be published by Viking in Nov. 2008, in time for Lincoln's 2009 bicentennial. I'm a Senior Writer for "scr(i)pt" magazine, have a BFA in Film from NYU (where I'm now a frequent guest speaker), and am a story analyst for screenwriters and the film industry. I've taught screenwriting for Hudson Valley Writers' Center and for Cunard aboard the Queen Mary 2.

Think the notion of one Senator's shameless attempts to smear a younger, more idealistic, and obviously decent colleague are something new? The story is as old as one of Hollywood's classic movies-- and the comparisons to it are striking.
