An Apache named Rubin, his Turquoise Turtle and Thanksgivings
"Rubin had straight shoulder length jet black hair and a chiseled body. Her hair was short and shaggy like Meg Ryan's in Top Gun. She had a cute body but always wore cargo pants. I found out later she worked as a prison guard and was 47 going through a major menopause. Rubin was fixing up her handyman special and they had hooked up"."
Marge interjected, "They weren't a couple, they just had sex."
The 3rd of this October and Vanunu Mordechai (1 comments)
Unless Israel changes the date again, Mordechai Vanunu will learn the Court's decision on October 3, 2011 if he will be allowed his inalienable right to leave the state and here's hoping what Vanunu said in 2006 will not be a self-fulfilling prophecy......

The Slow Hand of Justice and Israel's Wall
[Jerusalem]--After nearly five years since a rubber bullet fired by an Israeli border policeman killed 10 year Abir Aramin, her family was awarded $430,000 by an Israeli court.
Perhaps the most positive aspect of this story is that the state of Israel has admitted responsibility.

Why Rick Perry Gets it very wrong about Israel Palestine (5 comments)
Texas Gov. Rick Perry has been to Israel more than any other presidential candidate and he believes he's on a mission from God. In his 11 years in office he also wrested much power away from that states Legislature.
This citizen of conscience for US House of Representatives has been to Israel seven times since 2005, but I spent my time in occupied Palestine, on my mission from God: seek truth and report it!

While hard working American tax payers face economic hardships, 81 members of Congress neglected listening to their constituents during this summers recess to take a lobbyist-funded trip designed to pressure them into sending even more tax-payer-funded weapons to the Israeli military which will be used to commit human rights abuses against Palestinians.

Nuclear Weapons and Hypocrites in High Places (3 comments)
The United States and most of the Western world agreed to accept Israel's special nuclear status. In other words, Israel did not join the Non-Proliferation Treaty, but it received special status, and pressure was not exerted on it with regard to this topic. Ambiguity is the Israeli-American policy. Without the West's agreement, there would be no ambiguity.

Last Night, Today and Rebuilding the Dream (1 comments)
"We hold these truths to be self-evident: That all [people] are created equal; that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights...that, to secure these rights, governments are instituted among [people] deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed; and, whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the RIGHT of the people to ALTER or to ABOLISH it."
Israel's Best Friends are its Worst Enemies (6 comments)
Only if we truly love our friends will we always tell them the truth and call them on their bad behavior; and when religion and politics get in bed together, we the people for JUSTICE and PEACE get screwed.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammad involvement in the terror upon America, "By his own account"stemmed from his violent disagreement with U.S. foreign policy favoring Israel."

Let us bridge our divisions, build upon our hopes, and accept our responsibility to leave this world more prosperous and more peaceful than we found it. Together we can do it. Words must mean something."-President Obama

Ending the Year with same old prayer: Freedom for Vanunu Gaza and Palestine (1 comments)
One of the very first questions I ever asked Vanunu was if he chose the name John Crossman because of St. John of the Cross, the Spanish mystic poet and Carmelite brother who was an ardent disciple of Theresa of Avilla's reforms.
Vanunu replied, "I haven't read him."
Not many have, and even fewer understand what he was talking about...

Mystical Christmas Eves and why I am 'flaming' Fleming
On Christmas Eve evening of 2007, I picked up my snail mail and opened up a card from Jerusalem. Vanunu made me laugh out loud, for he addressed it to: "Eileen Flaming" not Fleming, which is my actual name.
I picked my Christmas Eve mail up three years to the very hour to when I had first read an article by Jerry Levin about Vanunu's 2004 Christmas Eve arrest for attempting to travel from Jerusalem to Bethlehem...

May Aung San Suu Kyi's Light Shine on Tel Aviv and onto Berlin 12.12.10 (1 comments)
Suu Kyi has become an icon for the struggle to rid the Southeast Asian country of decades of military rule. Her freedom has always been a key demand of the Western nations and immediately upon her release she was welcomed by world leaders and human rights organizations. Amnesty International had called her a prisoner of conscience. Amnesty also shines the light on poor human rights records of both regimes and states.

All Things Nuclear: US, Israel and Iran
"All things must pass, all things must pass away. Sunset doesn't last all evening. A mind can blow those clouds away. Now the darkness only stays the nighttime; in the morning it will fade away. It's not always going to be this grey; all things must pass, all things must pass away."-George Harrison
