An Incomplete Revolution in Illinois As you know, on Tuesday the Illinois legislature voted to legalize same-sex marriage. Other unique and important aspects of this vote have gone unseen by the media. This short op-ed argues that the state's decision to maintain the civil-union system is the big news of this vote, and that Illinois--one of the only states that do not enforce contracts among cohabitants--should follow up by allowing more relationship choices.
