Paul Easton lives by himself in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, New York, US. He has a BA in physics from Cornell, and a PhD in physics from Brandeis. He was a Junior Fellow in experimental psychology at Harvard. After a brief stint as a Staff Physicist at MIT Lincoln Labs, he moved to the Brain Research Labs in New York, which later became a unit of the NYU School of Medicine. At present he is temporarily retired from paid employment in order to initiate new research.

He is also a student of Tibetan style Buddhism. His main teacher is Lama Tharchin Rinpoche of the Vajrayana Foundation. He also received extensive instruction from the late KuSum Lingpa Rinpoche.

His main interest is in the neurophysiological correlates of Buddhist ontological practice. His other interests include physical cosmology, psychosocial history, eating, drinking, music, and dancing.
