An Emerging Rupture in Iran
With the predominantly foreign fantasy regarding a "Green' Iranian revolution basically over, it is easier to focus attention on divisions within Iran's dominant political factions. Ahmadinejad's 'victory' saps the Islamic Republic
(4 comments) The Islamic Republic needs to seize the moment to respond to Iranians and the wider world before it traps itself into becoming the Islamic Republic of the Revolutionary Guards of Iran, an isolated military dictatorship akin to North Korea or Myanmar. The latter scenario is unfortunately looking more likely at the moment.
