The Saga of South Bisbee Continues Phelps Dodge Corporation set the tone for what is happening right now in Bisbee, Arizona, during the Bisbee Deportation in 1917. In March, 2007, Phelps Dodge Corporation was acquired by Freeport-McMoRan, creating the world's largest publicly traded copper company, with 25,000 employees at acquisition. Not much seems to have changed for the people of Bisbee since 1917.
