I am from the rust belt originally (Steubenville,Ohio) befoe it was rusty. I worked as a union steelworker after high school. read the writing on the wall and joined the Air Force where I served for 22 years as a Signals Intelligence Analyst. My last assignment was at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas where I retired. I became a public employee with the Clark County District Attorney's Office as a child support case worker. I served as a union steward for my shop and was elected as a Trustee on the Executive Board of SEIU Local 1107. I was a union reformist and fought a corrupt Executive Director who violated the Landrum-Griffin Act in the conduct of union officer elections to remove reformists like myself. We won a new election through a Dept of Labor complaint and after getting my seat back on the Executive Board I decided to retire from my 13 and a half years with Clark County and take a full time staff position with SEIU Local 1107 at the Training Coordinator and Special Projects in 2009. I am retireing from SEIU at the end of June 2012 due to my concerns with the direction of the labor movement in its blind support for democrats instead of promoting a real workers political party.

I have also been active in many different anti war groups in Las Vegas and nationally in Veterans for Peace, I have supported immigration reform demonstrations and organized many anti-war demonstrations here. In July 2011 I became active in Occupy Las Vegas helping to organize demonstrations and participating in an act of civil disobedience on November 17, 2011 resulting in my arresting along with 21 other Occupy demonstrators.
I was a strong supporter of Dennis Kucinich for president in 2004 and 2008 and decided in 2010 I could no longer stomach the war mongering and selling out of the working class by the democrats and registered to vote as a socialist.

Since Occupy Las Vegas has splintered into total ineffectiveness, when I retire this month I plan on working with Nevada Desert Experience in their anti nuke and anti war efforts.

I urge the building of a new workers political party to address the economic, political and social wellfare needs of the working class, poor and elderly. The two party system has failed the people and it is time for the people to build their own political party to challenge the ruling corporate robber barons.
