I was born in Dublin, have dual Irish-British nationality and have lived in Mexico for many years. My work experience has been with international organizations and U.K. government offices in Paris, Rome, Rio de Janeiro and Mexico, with short-term assignments in Geneva, India, in what was Yugoslavia, Denmark and Sweden, and spent a year in New York working with a Foundation.
In Mexico a had a part-time job with an English language supplement of the newspaper Excelsior as translator and columnist, followed by a full-time job with the Miami-based Telemundo, as well as translating T.V. scripts for Columbia-TriStar, Los Angeles. I now work as a free-lance Spanish-English translator for private companies and U.N. offices. .
My book Plain Speaking – A Reporter’s Conversations with President George W. Bush and Prime Minister Tony Blair’s Conversations with Wife Cherie (available on Amazon and Kindle and, unlike the versions by Tony Blair, George W. Bush and now Dick Cheney, tells the real story of what led us into the Iraq war. I also write verses about current events, some of which can be described as satiric and a few might even be said to be vitriolic, as well as children’s verses.
