Did Washington ever tell a lie?
(4 comments) A democracy is a country where the all-powerful President does what he alone knows is good tor the people. Stand up! The United States of America, our fatherland, the only moral nation in the world. And the only powerful nation. Together we stand. Flag at the top. We have the moral right to invade and kill millions in any country that does not abide by our rules.

Jean Ziegler: We Let the Third World Starve -- the Disaster Can Be Stopped
(1 comments) Every five seconds a child dies of hunger -- that leaves Jean Ziegler no rest. He calls banks and corporations "mass murderers". And he hopes for a revolt from below. -- In Ethiopia, in an underground hospital of the Eritrean liberation movement. In this cave bunker I saw children dying of hunger. It's much, much worse than we can imagine.

Corporatism or the True Face of Terrorism
(1 comments) The world the way it looks today seems like a stage production by Corpocrats -- inhuman monsters who have made the entire planet into their horror-story set. It appears like a creation by insane people, one that wouldn't stand the light of day. And yet -- there it is, our world, gradually becoming annihilated by those mad Corpocrats who are cheering in their hidden castles.

A first visit to sub-Saharan Africa -- peace and wilderness
(1 comments) Wild animals in a healthy environment who live together, most of them getting along wonderfully well... These precious wild animals are in constant danger from poachers and also from farmers who kill the wild beasts that attack their herds of domestic animals. It seems self-evident how enormously important it is to keep protecting these precious islands of wildlife in the world.

Nestle and Monsanto, hand-in-hand, will happily do us in
(4 comments) It's strictly ingenious. The two big multinational corporations have found the way to ruin the earth. They care about nothing but their own coffers -- profit, profit and more profit, and step by step they will move us to the brink. Hopefully they will be the first to fall over the cliff. They will have ruined the earth, water, plants, forests, insects, mammals and all that is comprised in the concept of ecosystems.

Absurdity Rules the World
(21 comments) The absurdity of the world today is so blinding that we can barely see through the fog to discern what went so wrong. Plans had been spun for years in the dark underground caves by the enemies of man. The Neoconservatives had it all planned but one factor was missing... September 11 made it all possible... What we do know is that mass hysteria was awakened in the American people.

India -- and a visit to 'Little Tibet'
(19 comments) Tibetan Buddhists had been rebelling ever since the Chinese clamped down on their freedom to exercise their religion beginning in 1955. Armed conflict between Tibetan rebellion forces and the Chinese army started in 1956 and spread quickly to the Tibetan capital Llasa. On March 10, 1959, a revolt erupted in Lhasa. On March 17 mortar shells were fired on the Dalai Lama's palace, and it became obvious that his life was in danger

Hunger Is a 'Weapon of Mass Destruction', says Jean Ziegler

Food for fuel, a sure way of creating a hunger crisis
(3 comments) Jean Ziegler, in his recently published book 'Massive Destruction - the Geopolitics of Hunger', is denouncing the brutal arms the neoliberal masters of the world are using in order to annihilate resistance to their senseless attempt to run the world as they see fit. His latest book is an outspoken denunciation of the agroindustry in its various aspects... The biofuel corporations will do all they can to silence his message.

Jean Ziegler: "the Cannibal World Order"
(8 comments) The victims are the poor, the former subsistence farmers in Africa who have been deprived of their land and whose countries now have to import food at exorbitant prices, due to the speculation in agricultural commodities resulting in the skyrocketing food prices today. Monsanto and the Mortal Danger to Traditional Agriculture
(6 comments) The greatest threat to the future of food production in the world is the introduction of genetically engineered foods from the bio-tech industry. Contrary to their mendacious propagandized promises of solving the problem of world hunger through the so-called second green revolution, the bio-tech companies are instead in the process of destroying the world's ecosystems, and thus the natural food chains and life cycles.

NOMA - The Face of Poverty
Malnutrition and hunger are not only direct killers of children and adults all over the developing world. A lesser-known but horrible result of the negligence and callousness of the rich Western world is a cruelly disfiguring disease called noma, a scourge which is destroying lives in large parts of the developing nations. Until very recently, little has been done to deal with this awful disease, partly because it was hidden.

Capitalism Is Dying a Natural Death
(58 comments) The curtain is going down on the lone-superpower world we know and it is now a most urgent question if and when and how forces for true democracy, human rights, peace and civilization can come out and dissipate the cloud that has spread over what was once an almost decent way of life. What We Can't Conquer, We Buy
Lunacy is ruling the world. Eternal wars, environmental damage, neglect of the common people, are all proof of the total lack of common sense. Information has morphed into mass propaganda.Greed has won out over humane instincts of solidarity.

(2 comments) The ‘war on terror' has become nameless since our administration changed. But it is the same war, it has the same goals and it is as unwinnable as it always was. (12 comments) Milton Friedman's Chicago school of deranged predators who wanted, and nearly managed as well, to completely distort the economic system on a global scale was born out of a creed that everything could be gained by a tiny minority. The Corporations – Killers of Democracy
(29 comments) It's way too late at this moment to ask the question: Are we going to lose our democracy?
