What We Can't Conquer, We Buy
Lunacy is ruling the world. Eternal wars, environmental damage, neglect of the common people, are all proof of the total lack of common sense. The ever-increasing movement towards inequality and the strangling of democracy are signs that people matter no more. Culture has been replaced by the accumulation of material goods. Information has morphed into mass propaganda.Greed has won out over humane instincts of solidarity.

Monsanto: Public Enemy No. 1
(2 comments)
The ‘war on terror' has become nameless since our administration changed. But it is the same war, it has the same goals and it is as unwinnable as it always was. But certainly there are other ways of conquering the planet, says Washington. And so they impose their huge industries with their humungous profits on the entire world, corporations like Monsanto,... and their goal is to make us eat only what they profit from.

Money is God, Greed is King and Corruption Runs the Game
(8 comments)
Never has the world been subjected to as pure and destructive lunacy as at this time in history. Never have the anti-civilization voices been heard as stridently as in the so-called debate that is going on today. The insane and desperate noise of the single-party political scene in the United States, the deafening roar of the Mafia, is threatening to out-thunder the few reasonable and civilized voices that are attempting...

The Multiple Faces of War
(1 comments)
Wars have always been fought for the profit of the very few and brought about anguish and sufferings for the very many. They have always been caused by the rapaciousness of the leaders. The people have always been the ones who had to bear the grim consequences of the selfish greed and lust for power of these very few who see plunder and destruction of lives and happiness of the many as their self-evident birthright.

Will Democracy Forever Remain an Illusion?
The United States is sinking deeper and deeper into the poisoned slough of their own making. Moral turpitude goes hand-in-hand with naiveté and arrogance. And nothing seems to have changed if it's not that there is now a president with acute intellectual abilities rather than an insensitive and illiterate clown who couldn't hold a book right side up.

Is It the Dawn We Are Seeing on the Horizon?
Patriotism, the military and the economy have morphed into the present-day trinity of a religious faith that has taken over the United States and steeped its citizens in the deep belief of the unconditional superiority of their country. Mammon is God, Greed is the Son and Expansionism is the Holy Ghost. Modesty is the devil and Compassion is an unknown entity.

Religion and money, the way to complete power – or not?
Religion and money have always been the sacred pillars of American civilization, ever since the time when it was a British colony, ever since the Puritans in New England branded the philosophy of the new country as a god-fearing and materialistic new world.

The Big Con Game
(12 comments)
Milton Friedman's Chicago school of deranged predators who wanted, and nearly managed as well, to completely distort the economic system on a global scale was born out of a creed that everything could be gained by a tiny minority. There has been a total lack of concern for everything but those very few who were the profiteers. What was destroyed in the process didn't bother them in the least.

Jean Ziegler: "This World Order is not just murderous, it is absurd"
Fighting against the imbalance in the world, in the 'Hatred of the West', Jean Ziegler calls for a new social contract based on global solidarity and dialogue between the South and the West. ...
This is the unmasking of the capitalism of the jungle. There is, on the one hand, the suffering of American workers: 25 million families evicted from their homes since March, plus 10 000 tenants evicted every day since September.

Yes, I am my brother's keeper

Do we need further proof that greed is not the solution for a sound economy? Do we need further proof that capitalism is foundering? Do we need further proof that ignoring the poor is not the way to make the world go round? That selfish accumulation of wealth is not the key to peace of mind and a life worth living?
The weirdoes who are presently at the helm of the world don't know a thing about what a good life is all about.

The Slow Death of Democracy and the Rise of the Corporate Hydra
(12 comments)
What has happened to the common sense of Americans? Has it completely gone down the drain with the propaganda of U.S. superiority?
Don't they see the millions and millions of people who have died and are still dying across the world, due to U.S. empire illusions and the firmly established greed and power of the Big Corporations? Don't they see that the lone superpower as a taken-for-granted is a fiction?

Does the United States produce a Superior Breed of People?
If not inhibited by a wise and loving upbringing, human beings certainly turn out to be the cruelest of animals. Other animals kill for food and possibly to save their own lives or the life of a loved one. Humans kill and torture from a cruel sense of power or for the ultimate fulfillment of their greed.

Will the World Survive GM Cultures and the Damage to the Earth's Eco-Systems?
Monsanto and the other major biotech companies are all set on owning the world's food supply. Monsanto is by far the leader in this nightmare of destroying organic agriculture and millennia-old biodiversity.
They have no respect whatsoever for the lives and the livelihood of farmers or any concern for the people who are exposed to severe health hazards ... Corporate profit is all that counts.

The Corporations – Killers of Democracy
(29 comments)
It's way too late at this moment to ask the question: Are we going to lose our democracy? We may not all have noticed it yet, but the Big Corporations stole our democracy a long time ago.
How did they manage? They bought up everything, from the heavy to the light industry, arms, oil, chemical, to the people in Congress who are supposed to protect us from abuse of power. But, above all, they bought up the media.

Another World is Possible
The world has developed into a distorted form of money market where speculation, lack of regulation of transfers of capital, accumulation of the wealth of the wealthy and letting the poor fall by the wayside has become the rule of the day. For decades nobody seemed to notice or care.
The speculators were thriving, Wall Street was booming and all was well with the world.

The Din of Exploding Bombs and the Dense Fog of Corporate Propaganda
(2 comments)
The world is standing on its head. Priorities are so totally screwed up that it seems unlikely they will ever get straightened out.
There was a time when people mattered. There was a time when governments had the concerns of the people in mind when running a country. There was a time when elections had a meaning and democracy was not just an empty word.

Insurrection of the Famished – Causes and Possible Remedies of the World Hunger Crisis
In a broadcast interview with Daniel Mermet on French radio*, former UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food, Jean Ziegler, stated that the current world food crisis is not due to nature, but to man.
Over the past few months in multiple places in the world we have been seeing riots caused by food shortages – the revolt of the famished.

Fantasy or Reality – Is There a Way Back?
The world is standing on its head. Logic and reason are gone. Humpty Dumpty had a big fall and is sliding downhill faster than has ever been seen in the times of so-called civilized life on earth.
Humane priorities are ignored by the dirt-covered oligarchs who decide over the future of our all but condemned planet.

William Clinton and Monsanto – a Team for Mutual Profit

How did we come to this state of the world where we don't know what we eat or drink, where there is nothing but secrecy as far as what the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is plotting with the gigantic Monsanto corporation?

The Multiple Faces of India
(2 comments)
Traveling in India is a fascinating and mind-changing experience. You are charmed by the friendly and beautiful people, even though underneath it all there are many aspects of the lives of poor Indians that are difficult to accept with equanimity. Nevertheless you are bound to fall in love with the country even though the harsh reality is so visible everywhere.

The United States and Israel – The End Losers
(3 comments)
There was a time when I had hope for peace between Israel and the Palestinians, believing that peace might actually be a realistic hope for the world. ...
After all the letdowns in the past I am feeling totally disillusioned as to the possibility of an equitable solution between Israel and the Palestinians.

A World Out of Joint
If there is not a restoration of some balance of power, the world will sink into a maelstrom of screwed-up governance, callous disregard for the people and a state of permanent war. The chief purpose of our neocon government is to give the Empire undisputed power and to make the giant corporations the multi-billionaire kings of this lopsided world.

The Rule of the Vultures
The vultures are running the world and their rule has only one purpose, making sure that the people are deaf and blind. That they are ignorant of the injustice and inequality that are the centerpieces of world domination.

Venezuela and Russia Voting on December 2 – Worlds Apart
(1 comments)
Hugo Chávez lost the referendum on constitutional reforms. But is he really the loser? Putin's party, United Russia, won the election. Sure. But at what price?
Chávez is blacklisted by the western mainstream media, in particular by the U.S. However, he graciously conceded defeat even before all the votes had been counted.
Putin is blacklisted by nobody, but who is the real dictator?
