OIL COMPANY PRICE INCREASES: FACT OR FICTION
(2 comments) Why do oil producing companies raise gasoline prices when crude oil prices increase? The answer seems self evident. Higher raw material cost should justify increases in finished product prices. However, the oil companies make enormous additional profits during times of price increases for crude oil.

Raising Taxes Helps The Rich
Most of the wealthy class are addicted to money just as any other substance or emotional addiction. This addiction can only be broken as it is in any 12 step program by a tough program of recovery which can only be enforced by the government

Saving the Wealthy Class from Itself
(7 comments) It is not enough for the government to assist just the ownership of the financial industry. Now that the government is the effective owner, it must also fund the borrowers and keep the loans on the books to prevent even more of a crisis. The socialization of business that we are experiencing must be accompanied by a safety net socialization of the customer base in order for this plan to work.

Obama Is Surrounded By Too Many Old White Guys
(7 comments) As I am writing this, McCain has just announced the selection of Sarah Palin as his running mate. From a tactical point of view that selection will seriously impact many in the electorate who already have gender bias and particularly the Hillary supporters. By comparison, Obama in my opinion picked the worst possible running mate in Joe Biden.

Is Obama Really A Change Candidate? Perhaps Not
(5 comments) It is not that the recent centrist moves by Obama involve issues that are vital. One can even argue that perhaps politically his vote on FISA, support of the 2nd Amendment, and opposing limits on the death penalty are less important than the need to win in November by appealing to the so-called center. The issue is betrayal to a promise of change.

Remembering My Father
Ironically Tim Russert died on the 21st anniversary of my father's death. As I wrote in my book, Road To Air America, like Russert, my father was my mentor and guiding force. He witnessed American history since he came to the U.S. in 1920 from a small town in Poland called Nova Miasto. I named our radio network Nova M Radio in honor of his birth place.

My Advice To Hillary: Stop Playing To The National Election
(8 comments) One of the worst strategies in any competitive arena whether it be sports, politics, or business is to worry about the next "game." Despite the effectiveness of her overall campaign, she is always thinking about the November 2008 election. Playing to that audience has been the fatal mistake of all recent Democrats.
