Is Congress' push to reinstate the draft just a reverse psychology ploy?

Even though I am beyond drafting years, I don't like this at all for these reasons: What if you lawmakers are wrong? What if the lawmakers that come after you do not have the 'altruistic' intent that you are now proclaiming? What if those in power, as they have always managed before, find ways and means to circumvent and bypass the law and ending up, sticking it to the rest of us average Americans to carry the heaviest burden in defending this country? Why do we all of a sudden assume, that the system will now be fair in keeping everyone accountable, and exactly just in discerning who from each family needs to serve and when. Why do we have this leap of faith now that all will be well: because we are in good hands? If actions determine deeds, then this action and its consequences should strictly hold those who conceive it, wrote it and vote for it wholly responsible, every single one of them. For, if you are wrong it will be disastrous, and precious lives will be lost, and it will be murder and it will be on your head! Count on it.

And why do we continue the status quo by writing laws under a crafted guise of this or that pretense? Why don't we practice truth and write a bill that plainly states the intent so that the meaning will be clear and unambiguous. If your intent is to penalize and deter the powerful from advocating war, then why don't you write something like this: If any person, organization, corporation, or governing body, produces or supports any legislation that promotes any type of war, then you yourself and the rest of your family (and all entities involved) must mandatory enlist to fight in that war, and you will fight it on the front lines, until the war that you advocated is completely over and everyone of our countrymen are safely back home. Why don't we write laws like that? Is this your intent after all? If so, then directly deal with the problem or potential problems at hand, rather than promoting and advocating for the very things that we don't want, so that hopefully we can get the reverse? Sounds confusing? Sounds like something a Neo-con would think up? Sounds like something John McCain just said recently?
