Tell A Friend

In a recent article, Justanothercoverup committed to:

Within the next two to three weeks, Justanothercoverup will be expanding the category “# S 1959, Endgame, Martial Law, DHS, NSA, Fascism” by adding articles from all over the Internet that present varying thoughts on these subjects as well as the best way to survive a declaration of Martial Law. We also plan to offer specific materials, available from this site, which will be a compilation of facts and hypothesis from the leading authorities who have had the courage to speak-up on this issue. LINK

At first glance, the above statement may seem innocuous, however, it’s actually a daunting task and fraught with liability. If an author or individual builds-up enough credibility to have his “advice” or thoughts on how to react to a declaration of Martial Law taken seriously, whatever remarks, assumptions and or/or suggestions that are made by that individual could affect life or death situations that will occur thousands, if not hundred of thousands of times across the country if such an event happens. The variables and factors that will be in play are enormous, and strategies and questions will have to be answered and planned for, many of which are basic but essential to your survival and ultimately, whatever amount of peace-of-mind you can muster knowing you’ve attempted to exercise your best judgment to make the most realistic plans for your family. Above all, we believe it’s essential to try and separate the facts, which we can substantiate, from the speculation and conspiracy theories that abound on the Internet. Unfortunately, one of those “conspiracy theories” is apt to be correct, but when you note the numerous theories that permeate the Internet, which one do you ultimately believe and what exactly should you prepare for?

It’s my belief that combining what we do know and can prove, coupled with sound logic and preparation, are the essentials to surviving Martial Law. We need to speculate far less and need to study the rise of other fascist nations and examine their tactics and proven methods for success. If you haven’t read Naomi Klein, Google her name and read some of the many enlightening articles and books she’s written, most notably “The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism” and don’t miss the many interviews, videos and other information that is freely accessible on the Internet. We know that liberty and freedom are hanging-on by the finest thread which could snap at any time, but it’s a situation that we need to respond to with reason and logic rather than hysteria and fear - elevated to the point that we lose the very essence of what makes us Americans. Above all, we must retain our identity and spirit and attempt to educate, not belittle those that believe “it couldn’t possible happen to them.” Knowledge is power, and in just the last couple of weeks, hundreds of thousands of Americans have become aware and S 1959 and Martial Law are among the hottest topics being discussed and researched on the Internet. It’s essential that this subject be made an issue in the final round of Presidential debates between the chosen GOP and Democratic candidates that will be fighting for the Presidency.

We can thank the courage of The San Francisco Chronicle and their publication of “Rule by fear or rule by law?” for being the catalyst of this “awakening” which is rapidly developing in our colleges and homes across the United States. Americans are now far more aware of S 1959 and the real prospect that Martial Law could be declared within the continental United States in our near future. Since the SF Chronicle published their expose’ on S 1959 and EndGame, the Internet has been awash with links, videos, and information that is resounding throughout this nation and throughout the world; people from almost every walk of life are expressing their outrage and fear via the countless Blogs, News aggregators and discussion forums that constitute the new media that is taking America by storm - the “alternative news media”, brought to you by concerned citizens and politicians who have now become aware that EndGame and the subsequent declaration of Martial Law are not “conspiracy theories”, but a reality in the New Amerika the Bush administration has been attempting to usher-in since they were first installed in office.

Now that we know EndGame is a reality, the question arises of what we as a nation are to do in the event that our worst nightmare should come true and through hook or crook, our government maneuvers or create events that will ultimately lead to martial law and suspension of the 2008 Presidential elections, or in the alternative, a quick decent into chaos because the GOP lost the election and hastily attempt to subvert whatever is left of our democratic (sic) process in order to stay in power and avoid prosecution for their treasonous and felonious actions. President Bush, as he stubbornly insists that Congress grant the telecoms immunity has essentially threatened America that if we don’t grant his “request”, Americans “could” suffer a devastating terrorist attack because Congress has effectively tied the hands of the intelligence gathering community, therefore allowing the “evil doers” free reign to attack America.

Those of us who have not been cowed into fear by the President’s incessant fear-mongering are aware this is propaganda and blackmail of the highest degree and understand that Bush and Cheney, along with their cabal of co-conspirators need Congress to grant the telecoms immunity because once the telecoms are granted a “get out of jail free card”, the immunity will trickle-down (or up) to include immunity for the criminals that first implemented this unconstitutional and illegal program; immunity for the telecoms means immunity for those who coerced them into violating our rights, and in the final analysis, the President understands that if Congress fails to honor his demands, the weight of the illegal wiretapping will eventually fall upon the shoulders of those who initially perpetrated the crime. Perhaps Congress will consider immunity for the telecoms at a later date, maybe in exchange for their testimony against those who dared to violate our constitution as a vengeful America seek to prosecute those who have trampled upon our rule of law and willfully destroyed our economy as well as jeopardizing the lives and security of the inhabitants of The United States!

None of us know exactly how this will play-out, but what we do know is that when dealing with Bush and Cheney, we can hope for the best and always expect the worst - a lesson well-learned by evaluating Bush’s tenure at the White House this past seven years. One possibility that must be factored-in is how we will communicate with other family members, how and where family members are to congregate after such a declaration, as a declaration of Martial Law could result in a temporary information black-out.

Executive Order 10995 allows the government to seize and control the communication media.

This order was executed by President John F. Kennedy on February 16, 1962. Some of the language is vague, however, with this administration that’s proven to be an open-license to interpret the order any way they feel it serves “the national interest”, so the general population faces the real possibility of attempting to cope with Martial Law with only “official news” to guide their thoughts and opinions, as Bloggers and alternative news sites can and likely will disappear almost instantly through a well coordinated media blackout. If that includes cell phones and other lines of communication, it’s essential to have a well thought-out plan for family members to follow so they will know where to meet and/or congregate and what perishable and emergency items for them to procure, or attempt to, on their journey home.

So, there we are, back to the question of what should the public do if our government declares martial law? During the course of our research, we found one website entitled Survive Martial law.com and carefully read and evaluated what was contained on the site. Survive Martial law.com is the brainchild of Harold Williams, and much of what he states is true as it pertains to the impact of a martial law declaration, however there are statements and contentions that are somewhat contradictory, and in fact, raise many questions which need to be addressed. It’s obvious that Harold Williams has done his homework, and while we don’t agree with everything that is stated on his site, the predictions of store’s shelves emptying in a matter of a couple of hours after a martial law declaration is certainly valid as is his prediction that food and medicine supplies may be disrupted on a national basis for a long period of time - possibly months. This possibility does pose a genuine threat to the survival factor of your family and those who remain unprepared will face horrific times if Martial Law is ever declared; Mr. Williams’ recommendations to stock-up on essential food stuffs and water are spot-on, as is the necessity for secrecy. We’re definitely playing on the same side but with some significant differences.

Mr. Williams offers a publication on his site entitled “Survive Martial Law” for twenty dollars ($20.00). We purchased the ebook and found it was comprised of forty-four pages, at least 80% of which were commentary and an excellent history of “how” we may have wound-up in this situation. The substantiation he offers are a list of websites, many of which host excellent facts and information, some that I quote myself, especially as it pertains to S 1959 and Martial Law.

Mr. Williams believes that Martial Law will be declared in the early spring of 2008, and in fact declares that he received a tip to that effect. On the second page of “Survive Martial Law”, he states:

A Secret Service Operative called me and said he’d heard the government was going to allow a city to be vaporized very soon to trigger Martial Law. He walked away, took his family, and caught a freighter to the South Seas.

There are many people, professional and otherwise who have expressed their concerns about a false-flag attack on American soil perpetrated by the Bush administration, and many worry that his refusal to secure our porous southern border has already allowed terrorists to infiltrate our country and possibly smuggle-in weapons of mass destruction. At any rate, so far it’s been a matter of raw speculation, and unfortunately, it appears that our only verifiable “source” that an attack is imminent is somewhere in the south seas with his family on a freighter… Perhaps the author is attempting to cover-up the real location of his informant, but even for me, a freighter in the south seas being used as an escape route for an experienced Secret Service Agent and his family seems a little “cloak-and-daggerish.”

There is another interesting set of “facts” presented in “Survive Martial Law”, and in all honesty, I’m confused at the implications these thoughts present to the reader. Mr. Williams states that he was with “Special Forces” during the Vietnam War for three (3) years; “I averaged 18 days a month combat during my 3 years in Special Forces in Vietnam, and it was up North, around Hanoi” and describes his combat skills as thus:

One thing I will mention, and many will disagree, but you and your buddies are no match for 50 Special Forces. I was one, and even today would take on 20 guys with hunting rifles (even good shots!), killing them all in 20 minutes!

Footnote: I write in a style that I believe is appropriate in today's world where we can't trust the Mainstream News Media, and rather than concentrating on one article alone, which may or may not receive the exposure and emphasis it should, I prefer to meld several relevant stories together, that each taken alone may not expose the entire situation, but when taken-in as a whole, tend to give the reader a better understanding of the subject. One article or story alone does not represent the "Big Picture" - but when several are effectively tied-together it often reveals a trend or broader view of the subject matter that is important to completely understand any given situation. http://justanothercoverup.com/

Martial Law

Thank you for this article.  I thought I was one of the very few who was really concerned about this.  One thing I have noticed is that in almost everyone of Bush's Exec Orders or in legislation, one of the events that could trigger martial law is an economic crisis.  We are certainly headed for one now!!

Second that opinion

I too encountered reference to, then visited, <survive martial law.com >.  Full disclosure:  I am not well versed on the ENDGAME, and very hazy on other, substantially similar, historical times -- most regrettably, on how people in the past were successful in both surviving and ending martial law.  Nonetheless, I also wondered immediately about Mr. Williams' counsel to divest oneself of firearms.  I now wonder, given their recent, pervasive proliferation among local and state law enforcement agencies, Would TASERs be OK?

What seems needed, then, are indeed secrecy, systems of communication (Pony Express redux?), and structures to ensure continuation of communities, both actual and virtual.  Food for thought, action items for the thoughtful.

Issue with martial law

It is technically quite difficult to do. I think it is better to sit down and work with what you know and figure how it would be done.

They would need the 100% cooperation of law enforcement agencies of subjugating their families, friends and neighbors.

Our military rank and file already have a constitutional movement. Asking a marine to stomp his foot down on Abilene, Kansas doesn't wash for me.

Top military brass have already mutinied on invading Iran...how are you going to get them to agree to invade St. Louis?

The main control mechanism they have is fear. I disagree with scaring people.

60,000,000 gun owners present a major issue for the martial law scenario. How are they going to confiscate those guns? You talk about special forces guys killing 20 regular guys in 20 minutes...what a lovely thought that is to bring to the table. What about the millions of veterans? Are they going to roll over?>

I prefer hope. You would be surprised at how scared "they" are of us.

They live in a world of fear.

We live in a world of hope.

Spoken Like A True Patriot!

That was one of the reasons I took issue with the material I received in the eBook from survivemartiallaw.com.

What I failed to mention, because I didn't want the piece to appear that I was bashing the author, was a sprinkling of comments like these throughout the publication:

If you don’t do it, then the day will come when you and the ones you love will slowly die, and it will be YOUR FAULT! This is no game here.

Hope in a sane future, so don’t confront anyone. MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!!! That is not being cowardly, as the time to be a “hero” has passed. You have what you have, so deal with it. I honestly believe if you don’t do what I tell you, then you and your family will die. (Emphasis added.)

The politics of fear, whether used by the right or left, are simply unacceptable to me. Rational discourse and an objective analysis of our situation is what are needed, not more fear-mongering. I'm one of those "old school" people, and when someone tells me I'm going to die if I don't follow their instructions, it immediately raises a red flag for me, as it does for others as well. We do need to raise the alarm and look at the situation with logic, a special eye on what our "reaction" will mean to our future, and cunning, not panic and fear.

I also believe that the SF Chronicle breaking the story about DHS and EndGame will help to make the government think twice about such an action, especially now, when millions of Americans are taking note, asking questions and demanding answers. Facts, truth, and widely disseminating the information are our best safeguards against fascism and tyranny - and a belief that we as Americans will never knuckle-under to oppression and will always keep-up the sprit of America, the one that respects the rule of law, freedom of speech, and most of all, liberty and freedom.

Reality

We live in an area where we trust our law enforcement personnel, and have friends and family among them.  It is not our local law enforcement I worry about -- is is Blackwater, Inc., and other mercenary forces which are totally loyal to Bush, et al.

I also have hope -- but my life experience tells me that it is better to face reality than to ignore it and pretend it doesn't exist, because if one does that, reality then rises up when one least expects it and bites where one would rather not have a bite!

yeah but

the majority of those 60 million gun owners are mainly comprised of  right wing nuts who refuse to acknowledge anything the president does is wrong, they will use their guns on their fellow americans who protest in any way the coming dictatorship. With new microwave technology and cluster bombs and an air force controlled by fundamentalist it will be imnpossible to openly stand against the firepower of the new facist who control America.Generals who oppose the war if you notice are replaced with Bush loyalist.Mr. Cormier is totally wrong

Martial law...

This really frightened me last week, but I might as well put it "out in the public" especially since one of you stated the "special forces" in your post. Just last week, the Army special forces left their calling card on my door. It was a recruiting pamphlet. The mysterious confusion about it was this:

1) I live in an apt building and each of us got one hung on our door EXCEPT the Vet

2) We are all disabled people that live here(I'm crippled but very poltically active online)

3) This is Gov't Housing (Public HUD apts)

You tell me ppl, should I be suspect? I am and I was so I combed the neighborhood when I walked my dog. It appears that MY building was the only one that got these "calling cards". No other apt buildings --not HUD necessarily--(we have 10 or more in this neighborhood) and the 6 plex ppl didn't get them either. Just us, & me.

I heard April...what a cowinkeedink, McClellan's book is do out. I heard Portland because asbestos in some [great] building.

AOL warned me that "everything is public and permanent". Therefore, this is as well and you got me covered right? Oh wait, if Rob Kall can LOSE 10's of 1000's of emails like the RNC and DOJ did, maybe it isn't permy.

I don't own a gun...they confiscated all the guns in New Orleans.................we are in revolt........it began in Nov06 when we thought the Democraps would help us. They didn't. They probably won't. It's up to us, the ppl. "Nothing to fear but fear itself' ...I am considering that thought in depth.

Good day

IMPEACH NOW

I agree that the issue of martial law needs to be addressed, but not from the perspective of AFTER it has happened.  (see also Presidential Directive 51)  We need to stop BushCheneyCo before they implement their dastardly plan.

We have complained but yet we continue to allow clandestine laws, signing statements and presidential directives that are not approved by Congress, as well as the horrible pork-filled laws that they do approve.  Many of these initiatives point to a set-up for martial law, so the issue is no joke.

This is our country, belonging to the citizenry according to our Constitution. We pay the salaries of our elected, recruited, and appointed officials.  Isn't it long past time to give many of them their pink slips?  It is the only way to change the path that our country is steaming-rolling down on the way to a hellish nightmare.

Tar and feathers now.  Not guns later.

FerdinandFerdinand is a Bull. He likes flowers. His identity is not really a mystery.

Our boys..

Most US soldiers would not comply with martial law orders. In fact, I think they would be some of our strongest allies in resisting any occupying force. Ron Paul received the most donations from the armed services than any other candidates combined; they know what is going on.

That being said, the US government has no qualms with arming non-US citizens to do their dirty work. Now Canadian troops are allowed on sovereign US soil in the event of a "disaster." I would not be surprised to see our own vets being beaten down by blue helmets who do not even speak our language. And really, any ignorant opportunist looking to feed himself or his family will quickly join ranks with the oppressor if it guarantees continued survival.

Regardless, I will look any man who denies my personal sovereignty directly in the eyes. He shall know he is dealing with man. Not a sheep.

This does not mean I do not think we should run and hide if given the opportunity. Our lives should not be thrown away frivolously and foolishly when the stakes are so high. There are much better ways to die than at the hands of our fellow men.

Facts, and a new political "posture" from the people

Hello folks

Do I put this past Bush? Absolutely never. Anybody who goes to war based on a lie, abandons Katrina victims to die, withholds healthcare from children for war money, and breaks more than 900 laws is showing criminal psychology with truly pathological lack of empathy/remorse.

Would the army and police comply? Let's look at facts and not beliefs. Just last week there was a stand-down order in Texas: Police were told not to search bags for guns during an OBama rally. They complained, voiced their concerns to the press etc but did they comply with the order? Yup!

REcently on Opednews there was an article in which army personnel and soldiers were interviewed, being asked the question: In the event of martial law, would they be willing to shoot Americans? Even their own friends and family members? HALF of them answered "Yes".

What of the fact that police are tasering en masse? Especially vocal people? Just recently in Santa Cruz, CA there were anti-torture protestors on a college campus merely sitting under a tree as they wore orange. Guess what? Just for sitting there, causing no harm, they were tasered.

So what does this lead us to believe and to suspect where enforcement of martial law is concerned? There is no doubt about it: We are a country divided. Among the crazed control maniacs who will do fascist things, and those who are still truly American at heart.

So now what?

I agree that impeachment is key. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

What about a House that won't listen to us?

A NEW POLITICAL POSTURE FOR US, THE PEOPLE TO ADOPT:

a) The Congress took an oath of office to uphold, protect and defend the Constitution. The right to be secure in our persons, houses, papers and effects is at stake as are the pursuit to life, liberty and happiness as mentioned in the Declaration of Independence.

b) We PAY the salaries of Congress and we PAY them to fulfill their oath of office above. Time to remind them. To use OUR tax dollars to fund evil----and the murdering of AMerican citizens, and the threat to OUR wellbeing by martial law-----is beyond just unacceptable. HOLD THIS OVER THEIR HEADS, PUBLICLY, IN LETTERS TO THE EDITOR!

BASED ON THEIR OATH OF OFFICE TO UPHOLD, PROTECT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION, IMPEACHMENT IS AN OBLIGATION UNDER THE LAW, NOT AN OPTION!

c) Americans need to be rallied up with hope regarding the effectiveness of our collective voice. It's true that the single voice won't count, but the mass of voices will. Politicians want to be re-elected! We've got to remind people of that fact. Witness the resignations from public office to avoid scandal, as I have parroted again and again on this forum: Sorry for the repeat but it's an important point to bring to public attention. Obviously the voices of the greater masses does count and our opinions DO make a difference! Or they wouldn't resign to avoid scandal. Let's all take note----and take heart! And spread word.

d) Demand, demand, don't ask that Congress implement the public will. Their job---for which we pay them----is to implement the public will, not that of their unilateral whims or of the corporations. Remind them of this! Again: Don't ASK a politician what THEIR position is about ANYTHING. STATE YOUR OWN! REMIND THEM that THEY WORK FOR US, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!

Thank you for reading this long message. Please pass this article on. It's very good as usual, William: Thank you for such motivated and researched work!

I am a big believer in the old adage: "two heads are better than one" and cannot count the number of times I have reached a better understanding or found a better solution as the result of collaborative exploration with a trusted someone whose thinking I turned to for a different and additional viewpoint.

THAT is one of the things this website provides for all who visit: an opportunity to perhaps increase (and share) our understanding and views on current events.

THAT being said - here is what I want to share regarding Mr Cormier's well constructed essay above. I think this statement from early in the piece cannot be stressed enough:

"If you haven’t read Naomi Klein, Google her name and read some of the many enlightening articles and books she’s written, most notably “The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism”"

We know for a fact there IS some Pentagon operation and quite probably others in the CIA, the NSC, and plenty more we do not know about, who are spending BILLIONS of dollars dreaming up and pumping out DISINFO and PSYCHOLOGICAL WARFARE propaganda non-stop 24/7/365. And a whole shipload of it is aimed DIRECTLY AT the American public. It is psy-ops for domestic consumption.

After monitoring the programming selections presented by cable TV's "The History Channel" (sic) I have come to believe they are part of that effort to keep the US public in a state of shock and anxiety. (Just monitor their onslught of gloom and doom for a week or two - see if you don't agree.

MY POINT - this "survive martial law" is quite probably part of the psy-warfare blitz/barrage meant to keep everyone (those who are paying attention anyway) stewing in a thick rich soup of paranoia and anxiety...

WHY? That answer could fill a 500 page book and in fact it DID. By all means > DO read Ms Klein's excellent analysis in "Shock Doctrine" - Here's a url (sans the hypetext preface) to a great short video introduction about it.

Martial law repealed?

Hello folks

In support of the comment above pointing out that we are being kept in an uproar of fear, may I remind readers here that recently there was an article (sorry, I searched but couldn't find it to reference directly) stating that Patrick Leahy managed to convince Bush to sign a repeal of martial law.

Or was it just parts of the martial law powers?

Specifically, governors apparently complained that their powers were being overstepped by Bush's claim that it was his own power to place National Guard troops across the country to quell protest and keep public order (bad argument) in times of national emergency. So Bush, at Leahy's nudging, actually came to his senses and signed a repeal of at least his own ability to bypass the State Governors in setting up troops nation-wide.

That power now rests with the governors. Thank God for small (big!) favors.

I don't put it past Bush to do brash and violent things just to have his own way and brainwash us all into supporting whatever his way is. Not at all. If he can find a way to bypass this self-repealed law, he can and will. History has demonstrated that.

Impeach, impeach. Criminals don't belong walking the streets, let alone with nuclear weapons in their hands.

waldopaper is an insignificant teacher, informed reader and professional writer... living in dominionist crackerland... with two women, one young man, three cats and two dogs... alarmed at a failing state controlled by corporate psychopaths armed with nuclear weapons. There's a light on. Somebody's home.

What would it take?

Q: What would it take to establish a "death camp" (like Birkenau) on the outskirts of every city in the USA of over 100,000?

A: $10 an hour.

Q: Who stuffed the gas chambers, unloaded them, transported the bodies to the ovens... the ashes to the ash-pits?

A: The prisoners. Not the "Nazis." Not the Genmans. The prisoners.

...so spare me the talk about "our boys." Not at this time. Not in the USA. It's just "a job."  Just like Falluhah.

Food: A Weapon

For the U. S., food distribution is an economic and moral problem. Hitler uses food as a political weapon. Last week, in Foreign Affairs, Economist Karl Brandt listed some of the ingenious and devastating uses to which this weapon has been put by experts in the last seven years.
