I'm Proud To Be An American Again

Tell A Friend

As you will read below, last night I was on Timothy Gatto’s LiberalPro on Blogspot Radio. (Links below) The discussion was primarily centered around S 1959, The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007. It’s a hard bill to give a definitive explanation of because its language is so vague and ambiguous that it can be used in any context the Bush administration sees fit.

It’s also hard to explain without reading passage and passage from the Bill, and after that, the listener and/or reader is still scratching their heads in disbelief that our House of Representatives could pass such an odious Bill.

When we were discussing the amount of traffic and exposure this issue has received, I didn’t have the information I do now. If you Google “Today Is Critical, And We Must Join-in To Kill S 1959″, the number of Blogs that have taken up this issue covers several pages of Google results. This is a movement the people themselves are taking into their own hands, and one thing I’ve desperately tried to hold onto was my faith in the America Spirit, and this message of solidarity is reaching untold thousands, hundreds of thousands, or even more of us that have Liberal and Progressive issues in mind and the view that our country is headed in the wrong way; in fact, this is an issue not favored by the Republican people themselves, but of A House that voted almost in unison in support of this Bill.

My heart swelled with pride knowing that when faced with a danger we can all relate to and understand, it doesn’t take anything but the facts to convince Americans that the passage of this assault on our constitution could eventually result in the end of Free Speech in America and the imprisonment of citizens whose only “crimes” were those of voicing their opposition to a corrupt government.

I’ve always been proud to be an American, however, after watching our constitution being trampled into the ground and Congress essentially helping in its destruction, I was becoming worried we had lost the spirit that made this country what it became, and still can be with the voice of the people coming through, loud and clear - and after searching this morning, my spirits were raised in the reaffirmation of the American spirit, which is showing through as we attempt to derail this assault against our constitution.!

Last night, I had the privilege of being on Timothy Gatto’s Liberal Pro on Blogtalkradio. I enjoyed the conversation, listened to a conservative that seemed to have more liberal views than conservative in an odd sort of way, as it’s not often you run into an atheist conservative - and she was blunt in her disapproval of President Bush; she is also a conservative talk show host and her views were interesting. She is known as “Jenn of the Jungle

The conversation wandered into the economy, and I stated I was in favor of fiscal responsibility, to which she replied that I am also a “conservative.” I answered yes, I was on some issues, however don’t believe that if you believe in true fiscal conservatism it’s a bad trait for either party.

The threat of terror is real, and instead of handing it a crippling blow to Al Qaeda and the Taliban, we allowed them to escape into, and receive safe-haven from Pakistan, something President Bush promised he would never allow to happen. You can hear the show at this LINK.

I offer a special thanks to the “Digg Community“, “BuzzFlash“, and “Op-Ed News” for publishing this important call to action and still have the hope that other, extremely well-known sites and authors will join us in this show of solidarity to defeat S 1959. We may be able to do it ourselves, and judging by the number of sites who are reacting and the general traffic, I’d say we’re already well on our way to defeating this Bill- but I’m also quick to admit that some major endorsements would kick-start and make this movement become a roaring success. Thank you all for your participation, and it’s you, the ones who are sending the emails and making the calls who deserve the credit for starting a protest that could result in defeating S 1959.

I am nothing more than a patriotic American that is doing whatever I can to further the cause of democracy, the rule of law, and am absolutely outraged on how the Bush administration is defying our Congress, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights! Footnote: I write in a style that I believe is appropriate in today's world where we can't trust the Mainstream News Media, and rather than concentrating on one article alone, which may or may not receive the exposure and emphasis it should, I prefer to meld several relevant stories together, that each taken alone may not expose the entire situation, but when taken-in as a whole, tend to give the reader a better understanding of the subject. One article or story alone does not represent the "Big Picture" - but when several are effectively tied-together it often reveals a trend or broader view of the subject matter that is important to completely understand any given situation. http://justanothercoverup.com/

Other Important Information!

FOOTNOTE: I believe that Google also deserves special recognition in this matter. As we know, Americans all over the Internet are searching for information on S 1959. People are waking-up that this is an egregious assault on our constitution, and they are seeking answers. As you noted above, I suggested using Google to search for the article titles to see the multiple pages of those who have taken up this cause. Knowing that, when you look at my internal search stats, they tell a story that smacks of censorship, as I have to believe that people who use other search engines are also looking for this information.

Search Results so far this month:

Google 172
Windows Live 35
Yahoo 8
MSM Search 6
AOL 2

You can draw your own conclusions from those figures; as for me, I find it hard to understand why Internet users who also must be searching for information on this vital issue are not finding these posts, and I’m thankful that Google has remained true to the people rather than caving in to political pressure - if that is in fact why none of the other search engines seem to be indexing these articles as Google has done. In fact, wouldn’t they show-up anyway because of their search engines? If that’s the case, then references to this series of articles must have been manually removed and/or ignored, although how they actually work is a little beyond my technical skill, but I can see there’s definitely something a little strange going on when legitimate articles are not being properly indexed and displayed with other relevant results.

NOTE: I just searched Yahoo for “Americans Are Uniting Against S 1959, But The Battle Isn’t Over Yet” and Yahoo stated there were no results to show. MSM Search only indicated one entry, and that was the same post on Op-Ed News. I’d say something odd is going on, and I believe the people that use Yahoo, MSM, AOL, and Windows Live are also entitled to find this information, and to not list legitimate articles, especially ones as popular as these, is a disservice to their users. :(

Thanks for being on the show.

I also decided to take up Jenn's offer to go on her show this evening. Hopefully I'll get a word in edgewise. As far as the thought crimes bill, we should all be fighting this tooth and nail. Sunday I have Hannes Artens author of "The Writing on the Wall" about a fictionalized war with Iran and a political analyst who has worked with the German government and is well versed on the political situation in Iran to talk about the NIE report and the American governments stance on Iran. Should be interesting. It's on Sunday at 10PM EST on blogtalkradio/liberalpro. Keep up the good work! God knows we need people like you!

Thank You

Coming from you Mr. Gatto, I'm extremely appreciative of the compliment. We seem to be on the way to raising the awareness of the American people on this issue, and based on what seems to be even more momentum building, I have hopes this Bill won't make it out of committee. If it does, it's an obvious slap in the face to the American people by the Senate, who are hearing from people every day who are voicing their opposition to the Bill. If this Bill does make it to the Senate Floor, I have no doubt that people will be looking closely to who supports and opposes the Bill - and my guess is the voters will remember who it was who helped to betray the will of the people, that is, if we are still able to…

The Show Is Cancelled Tonight

Well Mr. Gatto, neither you and I will be able to call-in tonight; as she cancelled tonight’s show "due to gnarley headache. Stupid bad weather."

Everything is always so serious, so maybe it's time to interject a little dark humor. Toward the end of the show, Jenn of the Jungle said she would like us to call into her show. I said, fine, what's the name of the site. She responded it was www.screwliberals.com . I sat back a moment, caught off-guard bu the audacity of the site's name and then asked he if she was attractive; she hesitated for a moment, and then said Yeah, I guess so, people say so anyway. (Not an exact quote, but similar.)

I stated, “Great! Sounds like a great idea to me, Count me in!” There was a brief silence at the other end as it sank in, and I don't think the interview lasted much longer after that. Oh well, we were past an hour anyway...

To be fair

To be fair, I noticed that Yahoo is again indexing Justanothercoverup, as least when I so a search myself. I still haven't seen any Yahoo result on my site - but also admit that Friday’s are traditionally the lightest traffic days I have, as well as many other sites, but Yahoo appears to have fixed the error - and I thank them for that!
