Freedom Is Not Free – And Americans Are Poised To Lose Everything, Part II

by William Cormier     Page 1 of 2 page(s)

Tell A Friend

In part one of this horror story, we discussed NSPD-51 and the Potential for a Coup d’Etat. I would love to say the news is better, but in my opinion, events are taking place that will reshape the America we have all known and cherished, the one spoke of reverently in our history books and still remains the guiding factor in our fight to restore our freedom(s). Yesterday I received this email, and I had no idea that S 1959 was scheduled for Senate approval this soon. The Congressional site states it’s still in Committee, however we know how fast that process can be when a Bill is fast-tracked. If it is still in committee, we need to make sure it stays there, buried and spoken of in whispers for its egregious assault on the Constitution, without question the worst in American history. This discusses the “Thought Crime Prevention Bill“. This is the greatest assault on the Constitution in American history, and it’s important for Americans to understand what this bill means to each and every one of us! This is the email I received:

THIS IS AN URGENT ACTION ALERT:

S 1959 “Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007″ must be stopped at all costs.

Pick up your phone today and contact your US Senator’s office to instruct them to vote “NO” on S.1959.

Click here for your Senators contact info:
http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

Full PDF text if the bill:
http://tinyurl.com/3a3y2z

If this bill is passed, and becomes law, your words and actions could be considered terrorism. S 1959 EVISCERATES FREE SPEECH, and empowers the govt. to declare ANYTHING they deem an “extremist belief system”, instantly make you a terrorist, resulting in stripping of US citizenship, torture, and/or execution, with no habeas corpus rights, no ability to challenge even in the US Supreme Court.

Contact your Senator and let them know they will be looking for another job if they vote yes on this bill, which is now introduced into the Senate as S.1959 THIS BILL **MUST NOT** BECOME LAW, PERIOD.

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h110-1955

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s110-1959

If this becomes law, your words could be considered “promoting an extremist belief system”, and all they have to say is that you are using PLANNED OR THREATENED *FORCE* (DOES NOT HAVE TO BE VIOLENCE) –FORCE by exposing CORRUPTION, CRIMINALITY against “THE CIVILIAN POPULATION OF THE UNITED STATES, *****OR ANY SEGMENT THEREOF” READ THE BILL MANY TIMES AND VERY CAREFULLY–YOU ARE THE TERRORIST (WHICH MEANS THEY CAN STRIP YOUR CITIZENSHIP, AND HAVE YOU TORTURED AND EXECUTED).

Call their local and DC offices. Go to their offices. Find out where your Senator is and tell him no to HR 1959.

“There’s a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can’t take part, you can’t even passively take part, and you’ve got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you’ve got to make it stop! And you’ve got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you’re free, the machine will be prevented from working at all!” - Mario Savio

After you understand the implications of the “Thought Crimes Prevention Bill”, and you consider other legislation that is also underway, and its implications, (which could affect the ability of fair elections to occur in the United States;) it allows whoever is in power to affect the outcome of any federal or possibly even state elections, and we as Americans cannot allow this to happen! The following article on BuzzFlash vividly describes what the implications of this bill are, and how it could affect the American election process:

Elliot D. Cohen: The Tele Gate Crisis: Stop Bush’s Electronic Surveillance Before the Next Presidential Election is Stolen

by Elliot D. Cohen (Excerpts)

About to be consummated by the Senate may be one of the most egregious, far-reaching, and dangerous attacks on constitutional rights in U.S. history. What is scheduled to take place this week on the Senate floor is a hearing about shielding telecommunication companies from both past and future criminal and civil liability for helping the Bush Administration to deploy and operate a massive computerized system of unlawful search and seizure with the potential to disrupt and destroy free elections, privacy, freedom of the press, and freedom of speech in America — in a word, democracy.

I am nothing more than a patriotic American that is doing whatever I can to further the cause of democracy, the rule of law, and am absolutely outraged on how the Bush administration is defying our Congress, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights! (more...)

Reply: P.S. -

Thanks for providing the contact #'s. I have them, but sometimes it's easier to get them from an article or link rather than find my old ruffled up piece of paper! My calls went to Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson of Georgia, and both of their staffs were polite and (at least seemed) interested in what I had to say... I encourage everyone to take five minutes and do the same where they are while we still can!!! Cheers, Bid

Thank you for taking the time to read it.

I believe deep in my heart that with the passage of these two Bills looming before us, we stand at the crux of losing our freedom(s) in America. To everyone, starting a movement that will rock the political spectrum isn't that hard to do with a little work from everyone involved.

Email a copy of this to a friend, and ask them to carefully read both Op-Ed's, and for them to become involved too. Anyone reading these two Op-Ed's will know, in no uncertain terms, that our very freedom and democracy is at state, and we, the American people must act to stop this from happening.

If you believe that we need to take immediate action, please use the "Reddit" and "Digg" buttons so even more people will read this Op-Ed. On my site at the bottom of both pieces, there is a "Buzz button", and if that goes 7 or eight buzzes higher, it will more than likely be published on BuzzFlash, and they also have a huge readership.

This should be a non-partisan issue. Saving the country from tyranny and dictatorship has to transcend the traditional party lines, and we as Americans must act in unison to quell this threat. Any support you can offer will bring us that much closer to "taking back America", and now that we know Congress has failed us, there is nothing left but "we the people" to take back this nation. If you show your support for this type of a message to be sent to Congress and the White House, showing your support will assure that many more will read and understand that the time to take action is now, and that same old corny line is as true today as when it was first quoted:

United We Stand, Divided We Fall!

Let's make this the time to stand-up for America and do something that is legal and within our rights to show Washington that "The People" have had enough.

The ants come marching two by two....

Haroo, haroo!!

When ant colonies are flooded, the ants cling together in a pyramid, floating on top of the water to safety. Then they continue right on with their work!

So if we, the people are being flooded right now, then we can cling together and continue right on with OUR work! We outnumber the politicians by millions to one!

Hold Congress's feet to the fire:
When calling your Senator, please remind them that we PAY them to "uphold, protect and defend the Constitution" (an oath taken in order to hold public office). Please state further that we refuse to PAY to fund our own abuse! Ludicrous, eh? Let them know that we will claim every legal loophole on our taxes just to stop funding this abuse of us, ourselves, and that we may even leave the country in order to stop funding this kind of abusive nonsense.

The pocketbook carries enormous weight and we can use it to wield our power!

And while you still have the freedom of speech to say this (since S 1959 will usurp that if it passes into law) please tell your Senators that we will actively expose their wrong-doings in letters to the editor et al, to assure that they lose their seat in office! Politicians want to be reelected, and wrong-doing does not like to see the light of day.

Reply: Richard,

If you want people to read your comments, you might want to change the colors you are using to post them.

It's just plain painful to look at and (maybe it's just me) I can't read them at all...

This is one of many comments from the Smirking Chimp

This is one of many comments from the Smirking Chimp, where this same Op-Ed is being discussed. I am reproducing this one comment because of its impact as I read it, and I hope it moves everyone the way it did me; what an astute and chilling observation!

Contemplating S1959

A deep and ominous boom is heard, the deck shakes and you know that another one of those impregnable watertight doors down far below has imploded. As a flood of icy sea water breaches yet another section of the ship, the deck tilts up perceptibly a few degrees further and the end is that much closer.

On this cold night I feel myself transported to a still quiet place somewhat aft of amidships and realize I have been absently playing with a piece of ice I picked up from the deck which landed there when the iceberg was initially struck. Looking at the situation now I am speechless, for once really without anything to say. What can one say in light of “The Violent Radicalization Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007”?

Not much. It was clear after the Patriot Acts and Military Commissions Act were implemented, and the Halliburton camps were erected, that at some time in the near future the wheels would be set into motion, in order to carry out a well prepared stratagem. What surprises me this night is the incredible surprise and the sudden cries of indignation, expressed in some quarters, concerning this development.

You didn’t really think they erected the Halliburton camps to keep chickens there, did you?

Tonight, as you look towards the bow of the vessel you are on and begin to contemplate the ice cold waters which await, you have also received your own special designation. Others were designated “enemy combatants” and lost all their rights. According to S1959, you will be designated “radical element” and I begin to wonder how many of your rights remain at this time. I would wager to say very, very few.

What is certain is that you and I and many others are in danger of being “investigated”, questioned and surreptitiously “removed” from the society we supposedly endanger. Be prepared to face provincial “kangaroo courts” run by fanatical and inherently idiotic cadres of right-wing adherents. They will show no mercy. Despite the winter, perhaps we will survive the journeys in the cattle cars.

Tonight, I can only shake my head. It happened over here not so long ago when Jews, Gypsies Communists, Unionists, homosexuals, artists, writers, the disabled and many others who dared to raise their heads were denounced, imprisoned and hauled off to fates we do not want to think of.

We know who the victims of S1959 will be. What happened then was their version under another name.

Sit and contemplate what he said, and then print some more copies of this and call Congress and everyone else you can think of with a renewed energy, one that befits the fate that may fall upon so many of us that have decided to choose freedom over tyranny and oppression.
