Russia Promises Retaliation if Bush Deploys Missile Shield, And China Snubs Our Military

by William Cormier     Page 1 of 3 page(s)

The news the MSM isn’t reporting is almost criminal in their neglect of the warning they have an obligation to pass along to the American people. It seems that the Bush administration is pressing ahead with plans to implement a missile shield that Russia states will be met with retaliation:

Washington wants to locate interceptor missiles in Poland and a radar system in the Czech Republic as part of a shield it says is essential to protect Europe from rocket attacks by what is calls “rogue states” such as Iran and North Korea.

Russia believes the shield is targeted against its missile arsenal and poses a threat to its national security. President Vladimir Putin has suggested there would be unspecified retaliatory measures if the shield goes ahead.

Russia believes the shield is targeted against its missile arsenal and poses a threat to its national security. President Vladimir Putin has suggested there would be unspecified retaliatory measures if the shield goes ahead.

Putin last month drew a parallel between the U.S. missile shield and the 1962 Cuban missile crisis, widely regarded as the closest the world has come to nuclear war. LINK

If you read this article from Yahoo News, it raises concerns, but when you begin to understand the scope and depth of the matter, it gets worse. Below are excepts from Putin’s annual questions and answer session, which is carried live on Russian television. Keep in mind that in the above statement, Putin spoke of : “unspecified retaliatory measures if the shield goes ahead” and then tied it the the US/Russian Cuban Missile Crisis: “Putin last month drew a parallel between the U.S. missile shield and the 1962 Cuban missile crisis, widely regarded as the closest the world has come to nuclear war”

Those are mighty strong words, especially when you take into consideration this statement made on November the 13th:

Russian Military Chief: America Evil

Russia’s Chief of general staff, General Yury Baluyevsky, told Russia Today T.V Channel, that the Russian Armed Forces were under no obligation to protect the world from the “evil Americans”. (Emphasis added)
In an interview with the English-language, state T.V., the top military chief cautioned that the “insidious” U.S. missile defense shield weapons system has nothing to do with countering Iran and is aimed squarely at Moscow, as tensions continue to heat between the two superpowers.

He was speaking of U.S.plans to place a radar and missile defense systems in both Poland, and the Czech Republic, supposedly to protect America and it’s allies from Iran and other “rogue” states. MORE

The above statement would make it appear that their have been countries that have approached Russia and sought their protection from the United States, and Russia is telling them it’s their problem except for Iran, unless he has recently switched positions. Of importance is that that Russia seriously considers the United States as being a serious enough risk to publicly state that Russia has no obligation to protect the world from US aggression; this is getting ugly!

And then, after you’ve digested that, Putin held his annual televised question and answer session for the Russian people, and some of his statement are particularly telling:

Putin goes live on TV phone-in to escalate nuclear war of words
President tells of new generation of weapons. “Grandiose” plan to combat US missile shield

(Excerpts)

Mr Putin said Russia would defend itself if the US goes ahead with its plan
(Emphasis added) to install elements of its missile shield in central Europe. “I can assure you that such steps are being prepared and we will take them,” he said.

Analysts said Mr Putin's latest remarks were designed to reassure his public that Russia still had an effective nuclear deterrent. But they were also a message to Washington: that its new and costly missile shield was effectively useless against the latest Russian technology. Mr Putin did not spell out details of his new weapons, which he hinted at in 2004. They are believed to be equipped with manoeuvrable warheads, which detach from the main missile during the final stage of descent.

Predictably, Mr Putin took several swipes at US foreign policy. The US-led invasion of Iraq had been a failure, he said, as was its strategy of confrontation with Iran over its alleged nuclear programme. Mr Putin, who met Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, on Tuesday in Tehran, declared: “Direct dialogue with the leaders of states … is the shortest path to success, rather than a policy of threats, sanctions, and a resolution to use force.” MORE

Some of Mr. Putin’s words were vague, but we have to ask ourselves what “defending themselves” actually means; if Putin compares it to the Cuban Missile Crisis and places that much importance in it as did President Kennedy’s position on that historic matter, it could mean retaliatory action for simply deploying the system. It’s hard to tell how serious Putin is, and where rhetoric begins and reality becomes the product of his “promises” to the Russian people.

I am nothing more than a patriotic American that is doing whatever I can to further the cause of democracy, the rule of law, and am absolutely outraged on how the Bush administration is defying our Congress, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights! Footnote: I write in a style that I believe is appropriate in today's world where we can't trust the Mainstream News Media, and rather than concentrating on one article alone, which may or may not receive the exposure and emphasis it should, I prefer to meld several relevant stories together, that each taken alone may not expose the entire situation, but when taken-in as a whole, tend to give the reader a better understanding of the subject. One article or story alone does not represent the "Big Picture" - but when several are effectively tied-together it often reveals a trend or broader view of the subject matter that is important to completely understand any given situation. http://justanothercoverup.com/

An emergency call to action

Okay , folks, this seals the deal.

It is time for Us, the People to take more power into our hands than we ever have before.

I am going to schedule a citizen's meeting with Nancy Pelosi, face-to-face, regarding not only impeaching ,but jailing Bush and Cheney.

And I urgently ask each and every one of you to schedule a meeting with your own Representatives, NOW!

Please also pass the URL link to this article on to the public in letters to the editor, to blogs, etc.

And e-mail it to like-minded friends.

Contact your favored grassroots organization and urge them to get involved in the impeachment movement, showing them this article and its links, and summarizing the points in this article/the links to get their attention.

We can't just sit back and give a great sigh of discouragement at this time. we can't play the "helpless" card. Our silence is our own complicity: We have a duty to respond and protect us ALL from a worldwide war. Let's not play with fire and let's forget that often, the greatest evils are committed by the silence of good people. Thank you for bearing with the tenor of this message: THis is an emergency and it is not intended to make this sound like a lecture. Instead, the intention is to ask for an emergency call to action.  MURDERERS DO NOT BELONG WALKING THE STREETS, LET ALONE WITH NUCLEAR WEAPONS IN THEIR HANDS. DUCKS' FEET HAVE TO BE TIED BEFORE THEY ARE MADE LAME. PLEASE WRITE HARD-COPY LETTERS TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES AND ASK FOR A CITIZEN'S MEETING IN FOLLOW-UP. AND PUBLICIZE THE CAUSE. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

I too believe this is an important matter!

It seems that the time for complacency is over! We must pressure our Congress and local papers, Senators and House Members to make them take action. This is insane, and it appears that the situation is far too complex for the Bush administration to effectively handle. This is where America pays the price for a "C" Average President.

There are a couple of matters I will also try to address in the next three days, as my phones are due to go off on the 26th if I don't pay a phone bill I can't afford. I will pay my site and domain fees, so if I have to quit writing, at least the site will stay up. Somehow, the Liberals and Progressives have to figure out how to support writers like me that exist on SS income, and eventually fall to the wayside because they cannot afford to continue to write. I never give up until all hope is lost, however, when you exist on $849.00 per month, it has been a monumental effort to keep writng for as long as I have - and that's lasted in excess of three years.

Russia raised their nuclear alert two days ago!

The day before yesterday, Russia raised their nuclear alert in "defense" of NATO activities in Europe:

President Putin rattles nuclear sabre at Nato

Tony Halpin in Moscow

President Putin accused Nato yesterday of threatening Russia’s security and ordered the military to place the country’s strategic nuclear arsenal on a higher state of alert.

“In violation of previous agreements, certain member countries of the Nato alliance are increasing their resources next to our borders,” Mr Putin told generals in a meeting broadcast on state television. “Russia cannot remain indifferent to this obvious muscle-flexing.”

Mr Putin, whose rhetoric has become more strident as relations with the West have deteriorated, went on: “One of the most important tasks remains raising the combat readiness of the strategic nuclear forces. They should be ready to deliver a quick and adequate reply to any aggressor.” MUCH" target="_blank">http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article2910112.ece">MUCH MORE

Russia will play for keeps

If it doesn't involve oral sex then I regret to say we're simply going to have to let nature run it's course. You see, what we're dealing with here is an Imperial presidency and his craven cabal, who I might add are impervious to any United States rule of law. They don't give a rat's kester about what the citizens of this country or the leaders of Russia and China have to say. And so the mendacity will continue, unabated.
What's a country to do?
And we've recently learned that FBI translator turned whistleblower Sibel Edmonds has asked this reticent main stream corporate media to air her story regarding the criminal corruption, malfeasance, and cover-ups in this nefarious administration, but they refuse. They're afraid of this administration. Their hands are also in this tax payer funded cookie jar which continues to be pillaged.
So tune in next week when we'll bring you yet another episode of this continuing saga  "When George Bush lies."

What to do when logical persuasion won't work:

Hello Munich and hello reader friends:

Agreed. The Bush and Cheney gang cares not one iota about people and their well-being. In fact, it seems at least to me that they don't care about LIFE, period, and are perfectly happy to kill for the sake of m-o-n-e-y.

So as you ask, Munich, what's a nation to do? When logical persuasion won't work, here's the key suggested by a top-level activist I know:

Wordsmithing.

Charles Manson doesn't belong with nuclear weapons in his hands.

And another effective tool: SCANDALS.
Sex scandals.
Other political scandals.
Scandals in any way, shape or form....

WE'VE GOT TO, GOT TO, GOT TO GET A SCANDAL BREWING, USING THE RIGHT WORDSMITHING, TO GET CHENEY AND BUSH UNSEATED. AND FAST, TOO!

I don't know what the content of such a scandal might be or how to wordsmith it, or how to publicize it fast enough. I am not an expert in this area.

IS THERE ANYBODY WHO IS EXPERT HERE ? WHAT ABOUT CONTACTING THE AUTHOR OF "CRACKING THE CODE" ? EXPERTS WITH KNOW-HOW, PLEASE STEP FORWARD: THE CLOCK IS TICKING....LIKE A TIME BOMB. PLEASE. THANK YOU.

What's needed is a media change

Mr. Cormier has made an excellent suggestion in having all of the major Blogs unite, and post one article or column that would be published in unison. That would undoubtedly be a very powerful and valuable tool to combat this Bush, Cheney malfeasance, but more importantly, we'd be able to go to loggerheads with this "complicit" reticent mainstream media.
I've noticed that Ms. Sand is a frequent guest columnist whose articles appear in the Los Angeles Daily News. What about a clarion call to all of the Hollywood elite who are also concerned about the misguided direction our country is headed, via the LA Daily News etc? They've got clout and they've got capital. Combine this with the major Blogs uniting and we could literally override this complicit corporate media. What's needed is an entirely new television media outlet to reach the public.  Thank Goodness for the I.N.N. report and Democracy Now! and progressive radio talk show hosts Thom Hartmann, Randi Rhodes, Mike Malloy, Jeff Farias and Jon Elliot etc. However, we really need to overhaul this so called "Liberal" main stream media, that is hand in glove with this Bush cabal and the corporate elite, who again, don't give a DAM! about the people or the direction this country is headed. They'll continue spoon feeding us these fluff stories such as Natalee Holloway, OJ Simpson and Britney Spears etc. which are only intended to distract America from the "REAL" stories the media just refuses to cover. I stopped watching these shills months ago, including Joe Scarborough. He's a fraud too! Let's not forget who his employer is, General Electric, a major player in this Bush-Cheney war machine.
Until there's media change we are merely pissing in the wind. We can blog until we're blue in the face. But with the help of the Hollywood moguls we'd have a voice, and a chance then take a stronger stand against this Imperialism. We their help we could attempt to help right this once great country of ours.

It's obvious we need to organize, BUT

There's no question or doubt, however, as I've written so many times before, it's a task no one seems to be able to effectively address. I wrote an Op-Ed suggesting that all of the major Blogs unite, and post one article or column that would be published in unison by each Blog and/or news-service; There are millions of us out here that are acutely aware of what's going on, and if anyone can ever figure out a way to get us to speak-out in unison, we would rock the entire political process. It's simply a matter of organization and getting the various Blogs to understand it doesn't affect their core traffic, but such an endeavor would serve to announce events that only require five to ten minutes per day, however their impact would literally shake the core of Washington.

Solidarity is the key, the answer to virtually everything that affects us, but getting there is the issue; that's why we need a candidate that will run for the Presidency that will open people's eyes and speak the whole truth, not just sound bytes and political gamesmanship. This is not a one or two issue concern, but runs the gambit of the entire governance of this nation. They need to provide facts, and then substantiation; knowledge is power and when those who are sleeping awaken, if it can be done in time, many will be outraged when they understand they have been hearing lies, propaganda, and pure political spin all these years... It's time for one of the candidates to make the decision to try another approach, and run commercials citing the actual issues we face, their severity, and a call to the people to tell them where they can find the truth for themselves. The greatest crime I see is a MSM that is absolutely subservient to the Bush administration, and by their refusal to report the real news, they stand themselves complicit with the crimes perpetrated against man by President Bush, Cheney, and the many that aided them in the rape of America.
