First of all, let me elaborate. Have you ever tried to get someone to think about two things at once? Start a conversation and then when the flow of information is running between you, say something that doesn’t apply at all to what you were previously talking about. Stops most people in their tracks, they wrinkle their nose, one eye gets smaller than the other, their mouth contorts and the same word pops out of their mouth. “What?” like you had no business being able to change the subject onto another one without prefacing your remark to let the person know we’re going to talk about something different in mid-stream.  It’s like this; the news media says that the main focal point of the Presidential race is the economy. Ok, that’s good for a starter, but if you were to talk to someone about the economy and tell them that the reason the economy is so bad is because we are spending a trillion dollars a year on the war, they just don’t get it. Then you have to tell them how the economy works and before you get finished they just aren’t interested anymore and try to change the subject. Has that ever happened to you?

People are creatures of habit. The only time they actually think is when something is out of place in their self-built hamster cage. They can be oblivious to everything for days and then suddenly their ATM card won’t work. For most people, that’s the beginning of the end. Tell them that their dollar isn’t worth spit, and as long as they can get money out of their ATM machine, it’s good for them. Meanwhile, when it takes $20.00 to buy a loaf of bread after this whole house of cards falls down, they’ll give you a blank stare and say that they never saw it coming. Then, instead of trying to figure out what went wrong, they will blame it all on the politicians (and they should get a share of the blame) but wonder of wonders, they will expect the very same people to fix it without having to become involved. How’s that for stupidity? They will elect the same tired old snake-oil salesmen to put it all right again. This time however, they won’t be able to put Humpty Dumpty back together again. Then everyone will get pissed and start breaking things, never understanding that it was in their power to stop all of this from happening in the first place. That’s why I have a weapon. I just don’t trust anyone anymore.

It’s so hard to try to talk to people when their head is wrapped around the phony world of mainstream media. They can memorize the favorite parts of all their movies and which episode came first on a sit-com, but try to ask them to tell you the names of their Congressmen and Senators. Talk about the Presidential election and ask them who they really like and after they tell you, ask them why, what do they stand for? In most instances you’ll get that same wrinkling of the nose and the one eye half closed and the contorted mouth and the “What?” Then they’ll tell you that they don’t really keep up that much with politics because they are sooooo busy with their own lives.  Then tell them that the candidate they like is a lesbian, or a heretic, or that they used to deal drugs. That they’ll want to hear, but they still won’t know what they really stand for, and really don’t care. It’s all about how they come off on TV.

When I heard about the in discrepancies in the paper ballots and the optical scanned ballots with Hillary beating the exit polls by over 8% I was sick. I though another vote gone badly, what are we living in, a banana republic? Well I’ve come around and since nobody had the balls to come out and say what they think happened, I’m guessing that is exactly what we are living in. Frankly, I thought I would never write another article on politics again. I’m just guessing, but I believe that most people keep up with political events so that they can feel better than the politicians. It’s almost like watching a movie in which the hero is so basically flawed that you can feel superior to him or her. It’s like watching a soap opera. It’s entertainment, not reality. The trouble with this line of thinking is that it is reality. Just ask the hundreds of thousands of soldiers that either committed suicide after coming home from the “Global War on Terror” or the ones that can’t walk, or run or make love anymore. It’s real enough for them, however with many people, if it doesn’t affect them directly, it never happened.

Still, it’s all happening and it’s happening to every one of us. If you don’t feel it now, you’ll feel it later. Your friends that blindly follow the pundits and the newscasts will feel it too. People like Edwards, Kuchinich, Paul and Gravel aren’t all wrong. They just don’t make this corporate ownership of our government up. I have many political friends that write for different political sites, they e-mail me on a regular basis and call me on the telephone. They are almost to a person saying it’s time for plan “B”. Want to know about “Plan B”? You don’t want to know and I don’t want to tell you. This is what I do know, unless people stop having snot for brains, I might just find a coastline spot in Venezuela. I’ll probably have a lot of American company.
