While watching the Democratic Presidential Debate last night I couldn’t help wonder where the audiences heads were at. John Edwards said some striking things about the corporate controlled campaign of Hillary Clinton and the audience actually booed him! Is this the America that we want at this time? Hasn’t it been made explicitly clear that Corporate America doesn’t care what happens to Middle America in their quest for greater profits and more control over our government?

John Edwards sees the light. There is no one except Dennis Kuchinich that sees this as plainly as John Edwards. To believe that Hillary Clinton will bring America out of the “Dark Ages” as far as corporate control over almost every facet of our weakened republic is ridiculous. There will be no difference between a Bush administration and a Clinton administration except Hillary will be better at “spinning” the things she will do to endear herself to her corporate backers than Bush.

We will see no significant campaign finance reform with a Clinton presidency. I think that in John Edwards that could be one of his first orders of business if you can take him at his word about ridding this country from corporate control. The American people need to wake up from their protracted slumber. This nation isn’t going to find a way out of the mess that eight years of this Bush Presidency and all the trouble it’s caused with Hillary Clinton at the helm. She has already said that we will have combat troops in Iraq until 2013. Why? What’s the purpose of that? Why delay the inevitable? As long as we are in Iraq in an illegal occupation that is not winning the “hearts and minds” of the Iraqi people, our presence their will bring noting but more converts to Islamic opposition to us.

Do people want a dynastic form of government? How long will two corporate controlled families with ever increasing ties to each other sit in the White House? Isn’t it time that America had some fresh air for a change? Hillary Clinton is, like her husband that she learned the trade from, a consummate politician that will bring us down the road to more saber-rattling and “free-trade” agreements that are not in this nation’s best interest. The old Clintons are gone; they have been accepted into the same fold as the Bush family. How many times have you read about the fast friendship between the Clintons and the Bush’s?

The American people need to realize what time it is. We can lose our government forever to the corporate oligarchy with a Clinton win, or we can make our way back to undoing some of the damage that Republicans have brought to our form of government. Hillary has voted continuously to support the war in Iraq, to designate Iran’s Republican Guard as a “terrorist” organization, to vote for the Patriot Act, and voted to fund this war at every juncture. Her record would make any Republican proud. Take her at what she does, not what she says. I was born at night but I wasn’t born last night. After watching the debate on TV I see nothing new in what Clinton says. The only one on that stage last night who has voted against every war resolution and every threat to our civil liberties correctly, every time is Dennis Kucinich. Why can’t American’s see this? Are we all so enamored of the Clintons that we will put them back in office and get more free trade agreements and more war? Think about it, I have.

That’s the way I see it.
