Would You Give Your Life to Change America? I Would!

Tell A Friend

I’m reading so much negativity from the left. I guess it’s to be expected. The system isn’t working. We know it and so do most people in this country. The government is out of control The people have just about no say in what they do in our name. They won’t impeach Bush or Cheney. We might as well understand it. Whether they should be impeached or not, it’s a moot question. The cowardly Congress won’t do anything. The time for working inside the system is over. All of these letters to our Congressmen might have been better off being used as toilet paper, because that’s just what they are doing with them.

This is when people have to hit the streets. Stop lighting candles and standing in front of Federal buildings. They don’t care. The only thing that’s going to make these bastards think twice is when you take those goddamn candles and start lighting bonfires in the street. The system is broken, understand that and we will all be a lot better off. Take everyone that voted for the Authorization of Force in Iraq and vote them out of office, all of them, Democrat, Republican and Independent. That’s about the only thing we have left for working within the system.

The time has come to work OUTSIDE the system. Start forming chains and use the principle of “passive resistance” that Gandhi preached and was used so successfully in the demonstrations against the Vietnam War. The time for standing on the sidewalk is over. These people are even worse than Nixon. They want to use Nuclear Weapons as a first-strike option! Hillary Clinton, that wonderful “progressive” even stated that fact. Obama, with all his fancy words and his phony message of “hope” is another one that thinks nothing of lobbing nukes around.

We are about a few months away from full-scale violent demonstrations like happened in the 70’s. If these mass rallies on DC and NYC don’t change the attitude of these sycophants in Washington, there will be hell to pay. They are completely oblivious to the mood in this country. They are completely oblivious of the scale that Americans are sick-to-death of Bush and his ilk. Americans are furious that New Orleans hasn’t been rebuilt! Bush even went in front of the VFW and the American Legion and he got a lukewarm reception. There was a Commander of a National Guard that heard a Governor speak in front of his National Guard troops and proclaim that the priority is to end this war in Iraq and get the troops home! The troops cheered wildly!

Just because you are reading a Progressive site, don’t think that you are the only one that’s pissed. Don’t you think for a moment that you are the “fringe”. You certainly are not. Other people are more like you than you think. Just google “Conservative Anti-War Websites.” I think you will be more than pleasantly surprised.

Frankly, I’m a little tired of these “losers” that say that America is a cesspool of right-wing filth. If you remember, Bush stole those elections. Most of Americans don’t want him. They don’t want corporations running our country anymore. They are voting for “Clean Elections”. It’s easy to say that everything sucks and that this country has always been an evil country and that it always will be. If you don’t want to do what you need to do to change it, then just shut up! I’m so sick of all you pessimistic bastards. All you are doing is throwing in the towel and you have no faith. Without some kind of faith in something, you have nothing. If you think you are unique in your belief that America is through as a decent country, then I advise you go someplace else. If you can’t fight for what you believe, you don’t belong here. One thing I can’t stand is someone that is completely negative. You’re beaten before you start. You make the progressive movement look like a bunch of spoiled crybabies. Get a grip. If you are so angry, use that anger to stop these fascists that are ruining our homeland!

This has been coming for a while. I don’t know who I’m angrier with, the neo-con bastards that don’t care about anything but power, or the people that hate them that have given up on The United States. If you want to give up and say nothing can be done, that is your prerogative, but if you see me at a demonstration or somewhere else, you better keep you mouth shut, that’s if you want to be able to talk for the next week.

This is a time where we need Patriots, not whiners. It’s going to take courage to change this nation of OURS. I will give my life to change it. Will you?

That’s the way I see it.

Yet another suggestion

Its like this, to get the attention of our so-called leaders...

We could instagate a national strike (its been done in France)

or we could boycot ALL of the fluff consumer products that do not sustain life.  & ya, it would be difficult, don't buy any beer, smokes, video games, etc...

But is a bit of sacrifice worth it to get our CONSTITUTION back?

We as much as do not have a CONSTITUTION under the Bush regime.

so what do we want?

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
and as we all know
9/11 was an inside job!
Not just negativity
I see a fundamental misunderstanding of democracy in general by the majority of the American people. They don't realize that this democracy is and can be people driven.
For example, I was informed by someone that they will be voting for Obama instead of Kucinich because they don't think Kucinich will win. This person is not alone. I think a study would show this is the case for most of the supporters of each leading candidate in the MSM polls (whether it be Obama, Clinton, or Edwards).
Let me Say This
Kucinich won't win because he doesn't get the MSM "play" that  "Obama" gets. Lately either is Edwards since he started telling the truth. We have no democracy. We have an oligachy of the rich. It is not going to take "understanding of democracy" to change this. It's going to take peole taking to the streets and civil disobediance. It's just too late for "understanding".
if you're serious
and i thnk you are, then you'd begin calling for an Article V Convention. it is the one thing all politicians fear. it will stop politics as usual dead in its tracks.
we are about to lose the vote to private interests via hr811 as it will create a new and permanent voting machine lobby.
please check this information: http://www.foavc.org
Yes... but...
I think my handle says it all.
However, I think you over-estimate the population if you think the rallies in DC are going to bring mass demonstrations.
If the rallies get out of hand, let's remember that the Florida National Guard was just posted to DC on active duty.  Do you think that's a 'co-inky-dink'?  I don't believe in co-inky-dinks, myself.
Think back.  Only about 30% of the colonists supported the Revolution, about 33% were Tories and the rest were too busy getting their to care.
If the Revolution couldn't garner but 30%+, then why do you think that now is any different - or even close to that?
Yes; there are people like you and I, who - I assume - have been getting ready since Bush stole the 2004 election.  However, given that the gov't can shut down all communications instantly, leaving on people with a National Security access card that has a special 800 number and 2 access codes able to call anywhere, how would we effect ANY kind of command and control?
Even more, if comms are shut down, and TV and radio go off, how will we know what's happening across town, much less, across the country?  Ham radios?  You are aware, I assume, that ham radio operators have to tell the gov't whenever they take the radio more than 75 miles from home, so collecting those radios will be easy.  For those that have mobile units, a simple RDF can find them, quickly.
I think, eventually, we will prevail, as the military will get tired of killing civilians and coup the gov't.  However, on our own, all we can do is harass the gov't and interfere with services.  We don't have the luxury, like the Iraqi insurgents did, of  being able to loot millions of tons of HE from armories that are unprotected.
You can't fight Predators and M1A1 Abrams with Ak-47's and homemade explosives, but you can die trying.
People will put up with a hell of a lot if they think the alternative is torture and/or death.  Look at Germany, 1939; we are very much in the same mindset.  Already, our Constitution has been gutted, elections rigged and stolen, an entire city drowned out,  poor people screwed to the wall by cagings, insurance and pharma companies, oil and gas companies, tax policies, police forces that regularly use military-type SWAT teams against them, roadblocks, REAL ID, etc. etc. - and the middle income and rich don't do anything - and don't seem to care.  Ayn Rand would be very much at home in these United States.
So, while I support you and your attitude, I think you WAY over-estimate the American public.
Passive Resistance
Sit-Downs, tying up traffic, Demonstartyions such as the ones coming next month. Do I want to level my gun at anyone? I never said that. Don't make this something it isn't. For the people that stay home because you think it won't work, watch it on TV and wish you were part of it. It's coming. Set a good example and teach your children NOT to question authority. Make them good neo-cons.
RM MerrillI'm a strong believer in diplomacy. I've had enough of the Bush addministrations warmongering.
Would you give your life.....
I really don't care what you'd do to save this "democracy" (we live in a Republic, sir). None of this stuff is new. None of this stuff is going anywhere except in the trashcan of history. None of the "Repugs" or "progressives" or "independents" or whatever you choose to call yourselves can change a tire let alone a whole government. I'm not worried about a few Nat'l Guardsmen pointing their pea-shooters at me because they are not going to. The tough talk of yesterday is the same tough talk today. Politicians have never changed a damned thing because what is really happening behind the scenes is the exact opposite of what they preach. This "dangerous" new world we exist in has always been dangerous and always will be. There have always been perverts and such and there always will be.
Need I go on?
I'm 58 years old. I'm a veteran of the 'Nam and a veteran of the 50's and 60's etc. 58 years is a drop in the bucket. And you know what? If I'm around another 20 or 30 years we will still have the same ol' crap going on in DC and in the rest of the country. I feel that you are not just angry, your scared. I haven't changed a damned thing since this part of the show started and I don't plan on it either. I suggest you people quit taking this shit personally and have a good laugh at what these idiots are up to. It won't work anyways.  The world won't give up just 'cause the  invading  Americans show up in Iran or any other half-assed pigsty. And what if the idiots in charge do use a couple nukes? Do you realize that we set off hundreds of the damned things in the 40's and 50's, early 60's?
If you listen to the rest of the "real" world (that's a few billion people just like you and me) they don't hate the American people, they hate our government. And there's a bunch of fried brain idiots runnin' around in the desert scareing the shit out of a country of 300 million people. Well, I'm not gonna hide in my home. I'm goin' out every day and do just what the hell I please no matter what "poo-leese" man is out there.
Leave it to the dumb-asses that think they can straighten out the last administrations screw-up's and relax. Have a cold one, kick off your shoes  and bury your feet in the sand. Ahhhh... nice.
You Two Just Don't Get It
Would you dedicate your life to your family? Would you dedicate your life to a cause? I never said I want to die for my country. At 17 I joined the Army and at that time I pledged to uphold the US and the Copnstitution with my life if need be. I'm 57, I retired from the Army at 47. I am still in the Retired Reserve for the next few years. If I live another year or I live another 27 years, I will still try to dedicate the time I have left to changing what this nation has become. At no time did I call for force. If you saw what happened in the 70's, I was there too. The movement was much more centered and strong than it is now.
