Congratulations to you President Bush, you may not realize this, but you and Vice President “Rabid Dog” Cheney have turned your citizens against their own country. Most Americans I come in contact with through my writing now believe that the United States is a predatory nation that kills human beings indiscriminately and takes whatever it wants, when it wants it. Don’t believe me? Just look at some of my writing in the last few weeks. There are people that feel that this nation is too far over the brink to ever be brought back to a decent republic. They feel shame over everything that has happened, not only on your watch, even though that started it, but now they have looked at the nation with a critical eye and they really don’t believe that this nation has ever stood for anything worthwhile.
I know that it isn’t true. The United States has done some noble things in its history. What you are seeing Bush baby, is something called malaise. Just so you know what I’m talking about I’ll give you the definition, I know you aren’t that smart: Main Entry: mal·aise Pronunciation: m&-'lAz, ma-, -'lez Function: noun 1 : an indefinite feeling of debility or lack of health often indicative of or accompanying the onset of an illness 2 : a vague sense of mental or moral ill-being <a malaise of cynicism and despair.
Why do they have this condition? I don’t think that you have very far to go to see what has caused it. Look in the mirror. Call Cheney and Rice and Gates in and listen to their world-view as if you weren’t the President, but a spectator from middle America. Put yourself in the place of someone that has a hard time meeting their rent or mortgage payment, or an old lady that lost her life savings to the Enron Scandal, or to a young woman that lost her husband to an IED, or maybe someone that thought that they could get this country on the right track but now sees that it’s a Herculean task because all the cards are stacked in the governments favor. Oh that’s another word you will probably have a hard time with, its called “empathy” of which you have none.
You won’t see this malaise in the eyes of the people YOU meet. They are too busy slapping each other on the back and telling each other what a great job they have done. Most of them are making money hand over fist and don’t have a care in the world. You surround yourself with these people. They don’t see what they have done to the spirit of the people in this once-proud nation. They are in “denial”. Remember when you were drinking and snorting coke and chasing Mexican girls in Texas, and your parents told you that you had a problem? You didn’t believe them? That’s what denial is. Once you have it, you can’t see clearly at all. It’s a system of beliefs that doesn’t allow you to see reality. Just as well, if you saw, I mean really saw what you have done to this country, you’d put a bullet in your mouth like Hitler did. Yeah, you’re that bad.
The trouble with all of this, is after most people get over they’re malaise, they get angry. A lot like I am. Once they really get angry, there isn’t much you can do after that. The thing is, after they shake the feelings off, they really don’t care what happens as long as they don’t have to go back to feeling the way they did before. Some of them will die before they get that hopeless feeling again. I know, that’s where I’m at. It only takes one spark to set them off. Take someone away from their family for writing against the things America is doing. Start your war against Iran that we know you are planning. Let the rest of your cronies put everyone on part-time so that they don’t have to pay their workers benefits and watch this nation come to a boil. Howard Zinn is wrong. If you are going by what he writes, you must feel pretty comfortable. He’s practically given up on the human race. You have to deal with people like me. I’ve told your Generals to go to hell and I’m still here. There are others like me around too. People that haven’t given up on this country, people that still believe that this country is “of the people and for the people”.
So while you are sitting back enjoying this “good life”, remember that there are many in this country that don’t wish you well. There are many in this country that at this point are ashamed to be Americans. That’s sad, That’s where you have brought us, to this place of hopelessness. Just remember this, after depression, anger. I hope you are ready for it.

You are right, but the picture is bigger than it seems. It isn't just Bish but Western Civilization that needs replacing with an infrastructure that is globally egalitarian and doesn't use waste as a status symbol. See http://wn.karleklund.net

Egalitarianism or communism is species specific. That’s why it fails everywhere its tried. For communism to work the species has to be selfless. Earth species are anything but selfless. It could well be 1500 years or so before this people are able or willing to live in communal, idealistic co-habitation. Capitalism thrives because it’s a natural fit for the current level of self exhibited. You are at minimum, hundreds of years to early for your ideals to do anything but harm. To simplify: Try to train a cat to live like a dog. Try to make city people happy to live rural agricultural lives. (Pol Pot, 2.2 million dead. Didn’t work) we need to work within a frame of what is possible given the current state of the species. Forcing an advanced living arrangement on an unable people is almost criminal. You might as well go kick the crap out of a cow for shitting in a field! Humanity has a bright and fruitful future, but that future will have to come at a reasonable pace. Force it, and people die needlessly. Force it, and whole generations of people will live without opportunity and hope. Young species need personal accomplishment, it means a lot to them.

Thanks for writing "This is Your Life Bush". I am angry. My husband, Richard, is also angry. Here's hoping millions of Americans will wake up and make a difference. We need a new government with intelligent humans in office. Can we bring back credibility to America? Time will tell. Let''s hope we can make changes happen before it is too late.

It almost sounds like an oxymoron. For this country to have intelligence we will need to regain an education system. Everything in this country seems to have been dumbed down to its lowest possible point. We have been putting our tax dollars into wars, politicians pockets, and corporations CEO's. Our educators, police, and firemen do not even get a decent wage and the result is those who would help better these positions leave for other less useful jobs. I am not saying that our current teachers, police, or firemen are not doing the best they can, it is just that we need more of them and much, much, better pay and benefits for them. You get what you pay for and we are getting greedier and more corrupt politicians and corporate leaders. This has to be stopped and the only ways I have thought of so far are voting out all incumbents and boycotting as many big corps as possible.

You and I see things 180 % differently. The people on my side of the isle are impressed with our progress in Iraq, Afghanistan and in the Middle East in general. But then we knew from the outset that this was going to be a fifty year struggle. I know that the democrats generally can’t war for more than two years without wanting to just quit because it’s hard and leave our friends to fend for themselves but luckily you weren’t running things.
The economy is doing great. The job market is purring along. We have had no attacks on the USA since 9/11.The surge in Iraq is stabilizing Baghdad. The Iraqi people have made a bold statement to Al Quata that their brand of Islam will not be tolerated by joining with US forces and helping to flush out Base cells. The country of Iraq is still whole despite numerous forecasts of splitting several years ago.
North Korea is pivoting off nuclear weapons as a preferred deterrent and with there leader having heart trouble the possibility of leadership change is intriguing.Pakistan is finally confronting tribal law in the north east of their country. The talibond is finding that cutting off little girl’s ears for going to school is causing them recruitment problems.(Who would have guessed?)Europe is waking up to the fact that Islam is a virus that can’t be assimilated and will eventually kill the host culture and is therefore limiting new Islamic migration. The Russian government and the US government have recently decided that things were better having two military super powers playing good cop, bad cop to help stabilize the world.(So here we go again.)
Lebanon has finely had it with terrorists running amuck and has grown a backbone to eventually kick them out of the country.Libya has rejoined the world community and will eventually be a net positive.China has prospered enough to stave off an uprising of there 1.4 billion citizens there by helping to stabilize the region. This is also good for Taiwan as it gives the two countries time to peacefully merge over the next 75 years or so.Because of Bushes strong will enough time has gone by to allow real science to trump Al Gores bullshit global warming hype and that saved us from stagnating socialism.
Even Canada has turned to the right and so a visit by me is now possible.I love this country!
