I have been doing a lot of thinking in the last week as I see more and more clearly, exactly where The United States of America is heading. From the Executive Orders issued by a President who has clearly lost his sense of balance, to a Congress that is wringing its hands seeing their plans of walking into the White House suddenly threatened by this Administration that has taken their silence as cowardness. The thought of letting the Republicans run rampant so that they would be the only real choice for the American people in 2008 has turned into the possibility that what the left has been screaming about will finally manifest itself in a dictatorship run by Bush and Cheney. This has become a real possibility and the Democrats know it.
Not only do the Democrats know it, but the American People know it too. In the last few weeks Americans in increasing numbers have started talking about what would be the options if the Republicans in the Executive Branch actually run a false-flag operation to incite another 9/11 type emergency that will cause Bush and Cheney to declare their “State of Emergency” and put democracy as we have known it for the last 231 years out of business. What many are saying is that the United States Military would never let that happen.
In a way, being a former military man myself, I kind of believe, and maybe it’s just wishful thinking on my part, that the US military actually would never let that happen. It all depends on the kind of attack that is launched against us and the validity of such an attack. I think that in the middle of 2007, nobody that thinks can rule out the possibility that Bush had a hand in the attacks on the World Trade Center and the other three hijackings. The hole in the pentagon and the lack of bodies or a report of autopsies just about confirms the fact that the Pentagon was hit by a missile. The people smelled cordite, that’s what you smell after a cruise missile explodes. There were no wings, no plane, nothing that even looked like a plane had hit the Pentagon was ever photographed. They can go to the bottom of the ocean and pull up the wreckage of a jetliner and put it together in a hanger at Calverton Long Island after it exploded in mid-air, but they can’t produce anything except an old jet engine that they never gave the serial numbers from it to the press. So Osama Bin Laden took credit for the 9/11 attacks? The pictures from that so-called meeting between Osama and his “buddies” have already been exposed as a hoax. Osama was 50 lbs heavier and his voice imprint did not match verifiable voice imprints. The last known verifiable Bin Laden tape was made right after 9/11 when he told an interviewer that he and his followers had nothing to do with the attack. Most intelligence agencies believe that Osam Bin Laden is dead, and had been dead since 2001.
So now we Americans are in a position of hoping for a military coup against our “elected” government. We are hoping that the Officers of the Army and The Navy and the Air Force and The Marines have enough love for the Constitution, the document that Bush has called “an old rag”, that they will stop the administration in the event that they impose martial law on the country under their “Emergency Measures”. Meanwhile Congress seems to have abdicated its place in the government.
We are reaping the rewards of our disinterest in all things political. The two party system has failed us, the checks and balance system of our Republic has failed us, and the moral authority of our nation’s leaders, past and present have failed us. The Democratic front-runners refuse to talk about the Executive Orders that this President has signed. The Entire Senate voted for the Amendment that Lieberman, the dual citizen that has his body in America and his heart in Israel with his campaign war-chest supplied by AIPAC, which condemns Iran for any help that they may have given to Iraq. Meanwhile, forgetting that Iran and Iraq are both led by Shiite Muslims and that Iraq actually asked for aid from Iran. Meanwhile the Saudi Government turns a blind eye to payment for families of suicide bombers that blow people up in Iraq! The Saudi’s also overtly give money to al Qaeda to keep them out of Saudi Arabia. The House of Saud is aligned with the House of Bush, so nothing will come of them arming Sunni Insurgents.
Americans are waking up and seeing what time it is. Congress has failed us miserably. Our elected officials believe that this is just politics as usual and as long as their bank accounts are in good shape, it will all just blow over. They don’t understand that if this nation comes under a dictatorship, that Congress won’t be needed anymore. Those with power will be the first ones that come up “missing”. Writers like me will be the second wave of “internees” in the GSA shadow government detention camps. Frankly, I’m wondering if the American People are worth it. So far, this country seems to be oblivious to what is taking place. The people reading this know what’s going on, but how many people actually read things like this? I’m preaching to the choir.
When the Democratic Debate comes on tonight, see how many candidates ask the questions I am asking now. Better yet, see if any have answers. I don’t have any. I just have a knot in the pit of my stomach. I’m going to take some time and sere where this is all heading. I believe that if Congress doesn’t want to be an obsolete institution, they had better start organizing. Party politics are secondary to the very existence of the institution itself. They still have the power to arrest this President and Vice President. The American people would back them and it would be lawful. They had better get their act together. I really don’t want to be on a first name basis with the cowards that destroyed our Democracy for a little political gain and found themselves in detention camps with political writers like me. I wish I did make this stuff up.
