I live In South Carolina which is known as a completely "red" State. When I talk to people however, they seem to be apolitical and I rarely hear religion mentioned. The only place that I see the right-leaning bigotry that one would expect from living in such a place is when I look inside and read my e-mails at work. There, I see tons of religious right propaganda about different subjects that prove to be without merit, and without any grain of truth behind the things they send me.

I had an e-mail that said that Target was refusing to let the Salvation Army ring their bells and put the familiar donation kettle outside Target stores, but that they were openly supporting a group that championed gay rights. That turned out to be a load of crap and the organization that sent it to me also sent a retraction days later. The damage was done though. Everyone at work had gotten that e-mail and I heard more than once that they would never shop at Target again. When the retraction came out, I didn't hear a word about it from anyone. Now I hear that Al Qaeda has given the US an ultimatum that they will let us leave Iraq peacefully, but that we must leave all our big equipment behind. I have never heard of that in a newspaper, or saw that on the net, where do people come up with that kind of stuff? There, the damage will be done as soon as someone reads it. The person that that type of misinformation will attract will be the type of person that is not too politically savvy. They will not question it, and it will raise their blood pressure. That type of statement causes division between people and that is exactly the information's intent.

I'm getting a little tired of this round-about backdoor warfare that the right is starting to use. The entire premise of the "War on Terror" is patently ridiculous, yet it has people like Bill and Hillary Clinton, and every major politician in this country that wants to be President mouthing it's principles except Dennis Kucinich. First of all, what makes the Muslim threat so Goddamned scary? Do they have nukes? Do they have huge Armies? Do they have millions of dollars to spend every day to destroy us? Where are they?

First of all, militarily they don't really have anything. Fighting in another land, without the support of the people that live there, is a very difficult thing for any Army to do. It doesn't matter if the enemy is Muslim or Vietnamese, putting down a guerrilla war is almost impossible with conventional weapons. They are usually political wars and usually we back the wrong side, the side that most of the populace is against. Where are these scary people? Hiding in caves in Bora-Bora and in the mountains of Afghanistan and Pakistan and in spider holes in Iraq and in alleyways and in the corners of mosques. Do they warrant the expenditure of the type that we have already spent? The answer is no, but the oil in Iraq does. Isn't this what it's all about anyway?

Sometimes I think that 9/11 was an inside job. I hate to sign on to conspiracy theories but the fact that the Presidents brother was in charge of Security leaves me a little breathless. I saw the video when I Googled "Loose Change". If what they are saying in that video is true, than this President and his Vice-president are guilty of capital murder, seriously. They should be tried, and if guilty, either spend their lives behind bars or executed (I still don't believe in capital punishment). There are so many unanswered questions revolving around that day, it's really amazing. The words that were whispered in George Bush's ear were "The nation is under attack". Yet the President sat there for seven minutes reading in front of a class of 7 year olds. Where was his head? Did he already know what was going on before it happened? If I were the President, I would have wanted to know immediately what was happening, wouldn't you? What is the real story here folks? Do you think I'm making this all up? I'm not. I am so mystified that I wish I were. This is a scenario from hell.

How did we ever open the door to the White House to such a man? Things just don't add up. Those that say it is too late to impeach these men. Look at the time it took to impeach Clinton for a lie he told about his personal life that was really nobody's business. I don't want to hear about the sexual harassment suit that should have been put aside until he was out of office, you don't stop the business of the nation for a sexual harassment suit. It's amazing how Clinton could be impeached for a blow job, but a President that lies to his nation repeatedly and is responsible for almost a million deaths is not impeached, is to me, a total absurdity. What the hell is going on here? If anyone knows, please tell me. Mashed potatoes and gravy! (Little Richard 2006).
