Where is America Going?

Well it looks like what I was afraid might happen is happening. Nancy Pelosi says that cutting off funding for the war in Iraq is "off the table". Let me say this for myself and nobody else, if impeachment of George W. Bush and stopping the war in Iraq by cutting funding, than I will do my level best to start a third party and make sure that the Democratic base that Nancy Pelosi and the other "Corporate Democrats" that received my support in 2006 will not receive any support in 2008. I will just admit and assert that I was indeed fooled by these Corporatist's into thinking that a Democratic win would be good for this country. Instead, we have the same type of cowardly politicians that we had before the elections.

I support Rep. Dennis Kucinich in his quest to stop funding of this immoral war in Iraq. This war was and is not a defensive war, but rather a war that is being waged by this administration, without the people's consent, as the election showed, and is therefore not only immoral, it has now become clear that the Democrats who claimed that they were against the war are going to support it because not only do they not have the courage of their convictions, but they are also echoing not the voice of the people, but the voice of corporate America and the special interest groups that put them into power. I am beseeching the Unions, the AFL-CIO and the Teamsters and all other Unions to support a new party dedicated to Americans that labor for their paychecks and who are against our government waging this illegal and immoral war.

There is nothing more that we as Americans can do. We have put the opposition party in power with the power to cut off funding of this highly unpopular war, and the opposition party has already turned its back on the people that elected them. I also call on all Democrats that are against this war to write your Democratic politicians and tell them that we cannot let this stand. Representative Pelosi has become anathema to the stop the war effort. She seems to have become another Bush lackey and is a disgrace to the House of Representatives. This country doesn't need tired run-of-the-mill politicians, it needs people that are brave enough to call themselves honest patriotic, moral Americans and end our involvement in a terrible holocaust that has killed hundreds of thousands of people. This too cannot stand.

The way that I feel at present is that the Democrats and Republican parties should just make one big party (The Democrat-Republicans) and those disaffected Democrats that feel that they have been stabbed in the back should just come over to a new party that wants paper ballots, and end to electronic voting, an end to this war, an end to the electoral college and an end to campaign financing by corporate interests that don't give a damn about what the average American wants. I am tired of seeing this country run like a huge corporation that cares more about the bottom line, than it does about the people of the United States. I am tired of seeing people die because they can't get health care that is available to people of almost every industrialized nation except this one. I am tired of the black ops run by the CIA and the NSA and all of the covert intelligence agencies that haven't to this date ever been right yet about almost anything. I am tired of seeing the rich get richer in this country and seeing the middle class disappear along with health benefits that our citizens are supposedly getting from their jobs. There seems to be nothing that is good about this nation anymore, no pride in being an American. So far this government has sullied the names of our forefathers and made our nation the laughingstock of the world. This also cannot stand.

The American people are tired of seeing our government involved in every sick, perverted scheme that that is uncovered. When are we going to get good moral leadership in our government, instead of duplicitous people that say one thing and do another? Time will tell how long the American people will stand for this type of government. The only other thing that I can add is that if we continue to go down this road, we will forever have a stigma not unlike that of Nazi Germany during WWII.
