TELL OUR DEMOCRATS THAT JOHN MURTHA DESERVES TO BE HOUSE MAJORITY LEADER

ELECT MURTHA LEADER: http://www.peaceteam.net/leader_murtha.php

There are two candidates in the running for House Majority Leader this Thursday, and they are both fine men. However, by his strong stand on reploying our troops out of Iraq, and by doing so at a time when many others were just going along with the Bush administration's stay the atrocities policy, John Murtha has earned the right to be selected for this position. Simply put, John Murtha deserves to be leader because of his LEADERSHIP.

John Murtha has stood up for us with courage on this issue. That's all we care about. Now it's time for us to stand up for him.

If you have a Democratic member of the House of Representatives in your district, please submit this form to send them an instant message by email. Please also call toll-free at 800-828-0498 or 800-459-1887 or 800-614-2803 and ask for your house member by name.

The one click form below will send your personal message to your Democratic House Member only selected below, with the subject "John Murtha deserves to be majority leader." At the same time you can send your personal comments only as a letter to the editor of your nearest local daily newspaper if you like.

He found that authority to order him and his friends to action that could result in their maiming or death did not automatically lead to trust or respect for authority.

Why listen to the PEN

Earlier in the election campaign, the PEN advocated that the Dems dump Nelson of Nebraska and Sherrod Brown in favor of military people just returned from Iraq. Besides the oddness of a peace group advocating the election of a claque of veterans, the PEN was wrong in their political judgements.
This article is typical of them. To take a strong political stance unrelated to reality. Who is the other prominent person in politics who operates this way?

Why don't you post your own article?

At no time have we ever advocated abolishing the military. But we must at least constrain those bent on aggressive and preemptive war. In other words, the military should be used to KEEP the peace as opposed to precipitate war.

Indeed, who better appreciates the horror of war, and the imperative to avoid it if reasonably possible, than veterans? It is precisely because all members of the Bush cabal ducked their own military obligations that they so blithely send other people's children to the slaughter.

But of course, you have your own posting rights on this site, Rob. So you are free to post your own OPINION, as opposed to commenting on our work by telling people not to listen to ours.
