Well, the midterms aren't even a couple of weeks into history before the Democrats are already fighting amongst themselves about who's "legislation" goes first. Minimum wage, campaign finance reform, universal health care and etc. All important issues to be sure, but it seems the decision to allow the Bush Trash to serve out a term they weren't elected to has been made.
So the war goes on. Clearly the Dumbocrats have no idea what to do. The Republicans have demonstrated a clear destitution of any rational plan. They seem to believe that paying for the same territory many times over is peachy keen. No more troops, because there aren't any more.
Threatening Iran and the DPRK, whilst begging for help containing Iraq from Iran and Syria. All sonsofbitchs until the US needs them. Why, there are still halfwits that think Iraq is only descending into a civil war. Perhaps these people need to review a dictionary to discover there has been high intensity civil war in Iraq for a year now.
Major US Companies are raking in record profits whilst the Republicrats continue to tit for tat about issues not even related. What about stopping the Bush engine of destruction. It's what the American people want! The rest of this stuff can wait if the Dumbs, aren't able to engage in multitasking.
A reader responded to one of my articles "it's the only government we have." Like hell it is! In a REAL democracy it's OUR GOVERNMENT, AND WE TELL THEM WHAT WE WANT! Americans have little control over what this group of rich people, Republican and Democrat do.
The Repulicans will disappear into the secret little committees, covens, the think tanks, the "institutes" planning for the next attempt at global domination. As usual, on the other hand, Democrats waste mountains of time during majority and minority stints as evidenced by the lack of any clear course or even cohesion after the republicans finally ran short of dirty tricks, and the Dumbs took over the legislative branch.
Many forget that there are more than a few Democrats that are just as rotten as the Republicans. They do their dirty work in shadow and darkness. Sign onto huge defense boondoggles, and pay raises for themselves.
The Democrats should have arrived in Washington the day after the midterms with a clear course and time frame to end the war by leaving in disgrace, and then taking the Republicans to task for this historic rightwing crime wave. Instead, they appear like a bunch of preschool kids in a candy store. Give them time!, some say. We haven't got time! Now as before each life that is snuffed out is for absolutely nothing, capital murder. There's no democracy, no freedom, no nothing in Iraq and Afghanistan. Both "governments" are products of the republican party! They are failed states. The US can in no way fix them. Further the US deserves the worlds "thumbs down!"
We don't need anymore nonsensical disarray. We must have an Impeachment of these criminals as prescribed by the Constitution. Pelosi and her gang of clowns by law can't negotiate or carry on government work with Bush. He's not the president, and he is a criminal with the rest of his scurvy crew.
First things first Nancy. If you walk away from this, I'd say your days in politics are numbered, and you'll piss off a large number of Americans. You'll let a known felon continue in his crime ridden game, and history will paint you as a coward, and a felon, two verdicts you'll richly deserve.
Now stick THAT in your pipe and smoke it Ms. Pelosi!
Mr. Bohne is a clockmaker and activist. He HATES the US Government, and without stretching the truth (reality) will do anything to dig up dirt on any of these bastards, as long as it's REAL dirt.
"the first man to raise his fists, is the first man to run out of ideas."
she is afraid of "Republican Talking Heads" and their hateful venom...the Talking Heads will try to convince the American people that if Impeachment proceedigs (of blatant unconstitutional law breaking, torture, war crimes, war-profiteering, lying, etc.) should be "on the table" that it is NOT because BushCo is guilty, but because Democratics want the White House in their control too...given the ignorance of a large majority of the "masses" would it not "ruin" the possible chance of a Democratic President in 2008?..you know the talking heads will work it for all its worth

I no longer write for OPEDNEWS.COM. However, one has to question pelosi's motive for these incredibly stupid statements. The Democrats were not elected for their morality, ethics, intelligence, plans, or any of thes more laudable reasons. It is very likely unbeknown to apparently most, that the reason the democrats were elected is because the Republicans simply ran out of dirty tricks. If most will recall, in the past three elections the democrats would have won by reasonable margins had the Republican party been stopped from their well established and vetted criminal behavior in rigging the elections. These acts are history now. They cannot be disputed. There are people who don't realize that it isn't which party is the best, since neither are worth a god diddly damn. It's the entire governmental system. It hasn't worked really ever except for rich people. It has had better days to be sure, but to insist on continuing to "work" inside this failed system is a fools errand. To many people, because of all the propaganda, they grew up believing America, because of it's presumed (mythical) nature, was immune to the problems faced by other countrys world wide. That canard has be outed many times, and the unwhitewashed version of history demonstrates this phenomenon on a frequent basis. Already the Dumbocrats are fighting amongst each other bidding for power and their pet legislative efforts. I have no more faith in them than the republicans. Perhaps the screwing we take this time will at least be with lubrication.
Thanks For writing.

though I wonder why you felt the need to include the disclaimer that you no longer write for OpEd News, and why did you stop doing so?
Anyhow, it is almost sickening the way the Democrats are falling all over themselves in seeming to let opportunity pass them by. I would expect to see the Republican spin machine go into overdrive these next two years in the absence of any resolve by the new majority to see the lies exposed, the illegalities uncovered and punished and the wrongs righted.
My Centrist friends here would surely say that we should await the seating of the new Democratic majority before castigating them and they have a point, sort of. But statements like these from them make waiting hardly necesary, now do they?

Until people understand that it is the social control construct, that is, the governmental paradigm itself that is fatally flawed, and further, stop trying to find answers within it's necrotic parameters, things will always be the same. It isn't the electoral process, it's always been corrupt, as have been both parties. The judiciary is a joke, justice is a comodity for those who can afford it. This country in no way resembles a democracy, nor is it anything to be emulated except perhaps by Satan. (i am a non-theist) The system, all three branches is corrupt beyond repair. Despite this, Americans continue to look for solutions within it's corrupt corpse.

Yes, we do need to await the seating of the new congress before we condemn them. I am frankly dismayed at the number of people falling into the trap being nicely set by the Republicans and their spin alchemists. It's one thing to find fault with the new congress once they have begun their mission(s). I am sure that there will be plenty of grist for that particular mill. After all, they are first, last, and always human. Therefore, they are bound to fuck up, make mistakes, commit guffaws, and so on.
It is another to begin condemnation before we even have a chance to see the possibilities the new congress might bring. Can you people not see that you are being made into tools by the Republicans, and other unsavory pundits who have MUCH to lose if the new congress does become a cohesive, problem solving body? It is in the best interest of these pundits and prognosticators, NOT YOURS, to make the new congress out to be a bunch of losers.
Lest you people forget, there is but one real loser in the federal government. His name is George DUBYA Bush.
I mean really, what the fuck do you people expect? Ms. Pelosi is not yet the Speaker of the House. Harry Reid is not yet Senate Majority Leader. Yes, they are both a part of the present lame duck 109th congress, but they are only a part, they aren't in power YET! They are doing what they can at present, and are sure to do more once they are installed in their new official capacities. Give them a break!
I have been highly critical of many Democrats. There is no denying that. I am sure there will be things that the 110th congress comes up with that will leave me both scratching my head, and typing out lengthy condemnations of their actions or inaction. However, I am willing to give them a bit of lattitude, and some benefit of the doubt.
Is our governmental system fucked up? Yes. Whose fault is it? Everybody's! It is the fault of career politicians who think more of their jobs than of their responsibilities. It is the fault of voters who are apathetic at best, uninformed generally, and unable to be bothered at worst. It is the fault of pundits who, as one writer suggested some time ago, should all take a big cup full of "Shut the fuck up!". It is also the fault of doomsday-ers, ney sayers, and those who can only bitch, whine, moan, complain and find fault. No one is guiltless, and all must accept their part in the grand scheme of things.
I defy anyone here who constantly pisses and moans about what the new, not yet in office, iteration of congress to do a better job. You can't. All you can do is piss and moan. I defy you to come up with a better system. You can't! All you can do is provide graphic details about the problems with the present system. I defy you to come up with a plan that's any better than anything anyone else has come up with up to now. You can't! All you can do is find fault with the plans of others.
In other words, for once, would you all just give it a bit of a rest? Let the new congress come into being before you start your depressive litany of woe. Or, you could continue on in your sniveling ways, and lend even more credence to the Republicans, neo-cons, and other rich fuck malcontents who really don't need your help to piss in the Wheaties of anyone in the new congress. You can be a part of the problem, or you can be a part of the solution. You cannot be both. Choose now!
Blessed be!

Well, "centrist" you missed the original point, however, that is hardly a surprise. Your "government" is in place and working on such comparative nonissues as minimum wage and stem cell research. The first one has no teeth, and will be no help at all. The second is a joke because the dumbs don't have enough votes to override a presidential veto on stem cell research. Now they write NONBINDING resolutions one after another. No teeth. Just a thought, but shut the fuck up and try reading. Or can you?

Well, pappy ole bean ole boy, we don't have the time. Every day that passes more people die in the middle east, and the more enfortressed the American Mega-Companies become in the booty they've stolen from you, me, and the Iraqis. The wars are lost, and we can't afford to wait whilst the incumbent dumbocrats many of which signed on to this nonsense fight about issues that, at least for the time, don't matter. There are wars to end NOW, and there are criminals to prosecute. The damned Republicrats, instead of arriving on scene like a herd of wildebeast, should have arrived with all this nitpicking in the past, and a PLAN for now. Pelosi isn't the one that should being already tossing aside Constitutional Necessities, like bring the Bush people to justice for what they've done, or are the dumbocrats afraid of being found complicit in these crimes. Wake up and smell the coffee. Speaking of which mine is ready.

And still you completely miss the point. What can they do now? HUH? You tell me since you seem so ready to patronize me. What would you have them do now?
I agree, there is a war to end...uh DUH! How is an unseated body going to stop it? You tell me, since you obviously seem to think you know everything. Nothing short of DUBYA's death is going to stop the war NOW, and that will only work if Dick(LESS) dies as well. Since I don't see that miracle happening any time soon, the war will continue to drag on, at least until January.
Let me reiterate since you are obviously lost in the ether somewhere...I mean really, what the fuck do you people expect?
They aren't ALL in office yet. Some are, and those that are apparently are gearing up for what is to come, or have you forgotten the pile of subpoenas already getting written up by Senator Biden? Oh yes, you have, because that would mean they are actually going to do what they said.
Also, lest you forget, DUBYA is still in the White House. Even when the congress is at full strength, he will remain the commander in chief. Getting out of Iraq will be an uphill battle...and yes, I want it to happen as badly as anyone else here.
As far as impeachment being off the table, Ms. Pelosi is going to realize rather quickly once the "investigations" into the Iraq War begin she will have no choice in the matter except impeachment. She won't be allowed any wiggle room on that point, especially if We The People don't allow her any. When was the last time you wrote her to let HER know how you feel? I did just yesterday.
If you are dumb enough to allow yourself to be used as a tool of discontent by the Republicans, that's your problem, not mine. I choose not to appear like some spoiled brat two-year-old throwing a hellish tantrum because he wants to open those pretty christmas presents NOW. If this is how you want to appear, more fucking power to you. Just don't expect to get your way; you won't.
Of course, I don't expect this will make any difference or penetrate through your head. However, I do feel better it at least trying to get you to see reason. If you still can't, too bad for you. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't throw him in it when he refuses to drink.
Blessed be!

I"ll tell you flappy, they can execute Dennis Kucinich's plan or Ted Kennedy's. Stop the money flood to the executive branch, that is, make them follow the rules in the constitution. Then they can draw up articles to impeach as many of the Bush Regime as they can round up. Then, for a change, they can stop collaborating with the Bush regime, and tell the fucking truth for a change..For an uninformed bastard, you've got a big mouth.
