On November 4th, the Democrats won an incredible victory. The Democrats now boast a veto majority in both houses of congress and a filibuster proof majority in the senate. Barack Obama won the Presidency and was inaugurated yesterday. With all that, one would think all was well with the Democratic Party, but the rumblings of disharmony are not hard to find. Hillary Rodham Clinton, with a remaining core of supporters continues to fight for the 2008 Democratic Presidential nomination. They picketed the various inaugural balls last night. Revelers swear they could hear Hillary’s voice when the orchestra stopped playing. “This isn’t over, Barack!” Hillary would say, “I won the big states! Those thirty three or so states you won didn’t count and don’t try to throw that election you just won in my face either! None of that matters! The White House will be MINE! MINE! MINE!” Reporters caught up with a very tan former President Bill Clinton on vacation in Corfu. “I have no comment” said Bill “other than to say that I support my wife’s efforts 100% and I told her, keep fighting for what you believe in for as long as you feel that you need to fight”. When asked about the fact that he had a six month rental on his vacation cottage, the former President declined further comment. Oprah Winfrey, Obama’s new Press Secretary, fielded questions from the press about Hillary’s continued candidacy. “We don’t understand what she is doing.” said the exasperated ex talk show host, ”We tried to talk to her. We sent Gore, Edwards, Pelosi and a host of other Democrats to try and reason with her. We sympathize. Everyone agrees she fought as hard as she could, and isn’t a quitter, but this is taking it a bit far.”
