For OpEdNews: Maturin42 - Writer Gasoline approaches three Since Reagan’s time, it’s been the case In Europe tiny cars abound
Greenbacks per gallon, vexing me
That Congress-critters couldn’t see
It coming years ago
That conservation’s had no place
It's oil must fuel the human race
And it shall ever be
And in Japan, they may be found
Sipping gas while running round
They have mass transit too
But here in our fair land, you see
We have a plague called SUV
Five tons of metal to ferry
Mom to the grocery store
It’s legally a truck, they say
So CAFE standards hold no sway
Ten miles per gallon, that’s OK
It’s only gasoline
Cheap oil has almost run its course
We’re trying yet another source
To steal Iraq’s, by use of force
It’s not especially cheap
Gas prices are a problem, true
Food prices are affected too
I think we badly need a clue
Don’t you?
