HILLARY AND BILL CLINTON: THE WAY WE WEREN'T

Hillary Clinton is playing catch up to the phenomenon of the Barack Obama movement. What went wrong with the heir apparent, the candidate of inevitability? Is Barack Obama the mighty oracle or are the flawed political machinations of Hillary and Bill Clinton uncloaked for all to see?

Stepping aside from all of the obvious vitriolic distractions for a moment, the eventual nominee will win based on the merits of a newly evolving modus of choice. Character and transparency are not new criteria however, just that our ability to measure these performance metrics is so much more sophisticated by virtue of the internet.

This is precisely where the Clintons begin to stumble. If we travel back to the early and formative Clinton years it becomes quite easy to retrace the path that is leading to Hillary's current debacle. Now sadly for her, those chickens are coming home to roost.

The short list is haunting; Health Care, Impeachment, NAFTA, Rose Law, Telecomm Act, Travelgate, Welfare Reform and Whitewater. To be fair, Hillary has done amazingly well considering these overwhelming negatives that follow her like a shadow.

Were it not for the advent of the internet, Hillary and Bill would be headed for their third term in the White House. For all of Obama's great oratory, the Mighty Oracle of this fable is the Magic Mirror....who's the fairest of them all?

And that's the moral of this story, you better be good for goodness sake. The days of mis-speaks, mis-remembrances and triangulation are over. Does anyone believe that Hillary's negatives would be lower if she would admit her mistakes or truthfully depict her qualifications to be POTUS?

Perhaps, although the devil in the details for Hillary is style. The slash and burn, scorched earth, win at any cost politics demonstrated so recklessly in a never ending barrage of news cycles. The tired old politics of fear and half truths, calculations and contrivances. And most sadly, the politics of division, hate and racism.

Much like the RepubliCONS, the Clinton Hate Machine byline is to plant the seed of doubt as to whether or not Barack Obama is an American who actually loves his country. Or as Hillary mis-phrased it so succinctly, "As far as I know he's not a Muslim."

And while Hillary is doing her Grand Dame of the party routine there are always plenty of surrogates eager to do some bloodletting of Obama to repay the debt for their thirty pieces of silver. You Tube thankfully will forever preserve this vile mash of 21st century hate mongering at it's worst.

Hearken back to January when Hillary made her infamous proclamation and self fulfilling prophecy of the Kitchen Sink and Tonya Harding; "Now is when the fun begins!" When the Queen of Mean speaks she means business, except of course for that rare occasion when she mis-speaks.

History will judge Hillary and Bill Clinton severely. Many speculate that the divide within the Democratic party will heal in time. Maybe before it's too late the Clintons will back away from the tirade to preserve a remembrance of good will and affection once felt for them. Of course then they will try to convince us that all of their recent bad behavior was just a mis-remembrance.

Yet another free thinking citizen drawing a line in the sand against the neocons and the fascist takeover of America.

I am concerned about bring peace and prosperity to everyone in the world. I am concerned that people with too much power and wealth tend to be oppressive toward those who do not. I think the best policy is a balanced one. Balance comes when opportunity and motivation meet compassion.

RE: Hill & BIll

The only folks who support Hitlary are either:

(1) Totally ignorant of how she (& Billy) operate, or

(2) Don't care that the Clintons are lying, greedy thieves, or

(3) Will benefit directly, and personally, from her election.

The Clinton history is long, and dishonest, and ugly, and one of the most selfish in the history of America. And, if you look at her current campaign, you'll see clearly that she (and he) are still up to their same "I'll do absolutely anything to win" dirty tricks.

Come on folks. Is this REALLY what we want in our leaders? Just more Bushevics!!! They're all in the same family! Can't we take a chance that something....almost anything....would be better than more of their kind?  This is serious!

I do have writing credits in a major newspaper--long ago.
Currently, I write for online political boards with a
definite liberal bias. Proud parent, grandparent and
aspiring poet and novelist. I never stopped aspiring.
Finally managed to earn a BA degree in communications/ American lit. Love romantic fiction that also stretches
the intellectual muscles. And am mad about romantic
Russian composers. I take life seriously but tend to
look at it with a healt...

sounds like you're immune from truth

Lots of cliches and right-wind (not a misspelling) talking points in the above posts.  The ghost of Kark Rove hovers over the political scene like a spectre from hell.  Yep, lots of good ole boy rhetorical pablum but not anything an adult can sink his/her teeth into, guys.  Keep trying, you may be able to persuade a few more "Dems for a Day" to cross over in Pennsylvania and give your choice the heave up the food chain he so dearly desires.

Never, ever in my life have I experienced such total disjointed nonsense in a political campaign.  It even tops the 2000 debacle that put the Bushistas in office and our kids in Iraq and our jobs in China...you know, if you are old enough to recall, the election when the Pubs and fellow travelers claimed everything Al Gore said was a lie?  Remember?  That's the only strategy that works and seems foolproof.  Lie and blame it onto the opposition.  That's just basic junior-high school-yard competition utilized by Barack/GOP operatives.  I'm sorry, these debate points aren't even worth debunking for the umpteenth time.

(they have a lot in common, Obama, Karl and George ) nah, nah, na, na na.....

Whistling in the Dark

The Clintons have a long track record...and it is strewn with the bodies of people who stood in their way. You've only to read the many books and articles by people who have worked directly with them to know what they're about.  Remember what Bubba said on the way out of the White House on his last day? "We'll be back." I'd sooner see Gov. Arnold in the White House than Billary Clinton.
