McCain Won't Surrender in Iraq...Surrender What and to Whom?

In answering anti-war hecklers at a campaign stop, John “GHW” McCain said he will not “surrender” in Iraq, and “our troops will come home with victory and honor.”

Say what!?!

Surrender what to whom?

Wasn’t the original reason out of a thousand subsequent reasons for warring on Iraq to “git” Saddam? Well, we done got him.

We won in Iraq!

We won the instant Saddam was captured.

We won when “we,” heretofore called “they”, tried and executed Saddam, something they could have done just as easily in the reverse. In reality they/we did just that.

To whom would we surrender? That is the question.

Surrendering our occupation of Iraq back to the Iraqi people, to whom the country rightfully belongs, would be the honorable thing to do.

Not so honorable, of course, that would mean that it would be up to them to solve their internal civil war, which we handed to them on a silver platter of bombs. It will be a bloody mess, but it’s already that.

Sound unfair? Probably is, but we have neither the ability nor know how or understanding to solve their internal problems for them.

We’re only making it worse by staying and prolonging the inedibility of their full-blown civil war by standing in their way of ending the incivilities themselves.

Worse than that for us, we’re doing nothing more than providing more cannon fodder for “them”, whichever “thems”, them happen to be at any given moment.

Worse is also prolonging the agony of the soldiers, their families and the national psyche.

“Bring them home with victory and honor,” McCain said.

Victory is had. Honor goes without saying.

Pathetic

McCain is truly pathetic to think that after occupying a country without a military for more than five years, with no military resistance and with an average of more than two soldiers killed every day, there's some kind of "victory" to be had.

You're right, Sandy.  The US military is militarily uncontested in Iraq.  A military victory implies winning a military fight.  Can't be done when there's no one to fight.

Never surrender...

...especially when you think that "talking tough" will gain you brownie points with the so-called "base". The Straight Talk Express is nothing more than the Panderer's Platform...and folks are getting wise

Even the "base" is over the bullshit! With four out of five people saying that the country is headed in the wrong direction, AND with the fact that DUBYA is only slightly more popular than the thought of being neutered with a plastic knife, no anesthetic, and sulfuric acid as a topical antiseptic, banging the drum for a war of choice and convenience is a bone-headed move from a man who has shown himself to be every bit as bone-headed as the asshole that currently violates the air in the White House with his Miasmic Country Bumpkin Effluvium.®

I can't believe that anyone supports him. I can't believe that anyone even takes McDUBYA's "campaign" seriously. And McDUBYA thinks he can win?!?! Can you say, "delusional?"

Sure, I knew you could.

Blessed be!

I LOVE McCAIN'S APPROACH!!!!!!

PROF PETE STILL OUT WEST PLAYING COWBOY, SHOOTING AND RIDING AND CLIMBING AND FLYING SMALL AIRPLANES. HE ASKED ME TO POST THIS FOR HIM, SANDY, and I quote, verbatim:

"Re-McCain: The Dumber he continues to speak/act, the easier it will be to defeat him.

"Sandy, tells it like it truly is, surrender to whom? His campaign is an appeal to two groups;

"(1)-Those who are profiting mightily by this slaughter; the oil companies, & the defense/arms companies and the congress-both sides of the aisle which have profited $206,000,000 on this war with their own defense oil stocks.

"(2)-The Creatures which are the most pathetic & most empathetic, Genetic mistakes on the planet. That is now really not more than 10%-20% of the population, the others who voted for Bush have finally come to their senses.  The only remaining problem is some of the Hillary backers and some of the Obama backers are also as dumb & immature  as stones by threatening to vote Independent, if their candidate doesn't win-This kind of Democrat we DO NOT NEED! Someone needs to slap them silly with a copy of the NYTimes.

"Now if the 60% of single working females who failed to vote for the last two elections, can stop their ring-tone and Prada shopping long enough to show they have an iota of common-sense remaining, and can refrain from shot-doing every night just long enough to actually VOTE, this will be a slaughter unseen since FDR's days!

"I hope he doesn't stop wanting to "WIN" until he has LOST the election! Good one Sandy.

"PS: SANDY: One more round of  playing cowboy before I begin the final and most prolific stage of my summer out west with 37 paintings to go. Except for the heat and dust, rattlers and Scorpions, I LOVE IT OUT HERE! Haven't had so much fun since I was in grammar school-COWBOY PETE! YIPEEYEA!"

correction

IN PARAGRAPH 5 ABOVE, WHERE I I MISREAD WHAT PETE WROTE TO ME, I SAID IN ERROR, "Most pathetic, most empathetic..." should have been, "Most pathetic, LEAST empathetic..."

Sorry-David.

He took it

He took it with him Sandy, rather Aggie took it out to him, however, where he is they do not have DSL yet, and he hates dial-up, so I am his conduit for the time being.

Essence of time

Time being what it is...it could be a long time being until DSL comes into being...

Missing Link in the Time Line Chain: How does he get the messages to you to message me et al? DSL carrier pigeon?

He is out west, although not as west as I. Any wester, and I'd be in the Pacific...but with global warming...then I can message in a bottle.

so maybe it's Pony Express.

Nice meeting you DE, and glad you're conduiting.
