Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul vs. Independents
by ron corvus
Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul support independent-styled agendas and platform. Lovely. Wonderful. Problem is, anyone who knows a damn thing about politics KNOWS that these two guys have a snowball's chance in hell of becoming their party's nominee; worse, these two guys' agenda/platform have a snowball's chance in hell of being supported by their party colleagues, much less passing any substantive bill in furtherance of their independent-styled agenda/platform; even worse, these two guys are inhibiting REAL CHANGE for middle-class and poor Americans by giving independents false hope they will successfully implement and impose their independent policies on their corporate Democratic and Republican parties. Everyone on Capitol Hill knows such will NEVER HAPPEN via Kucinich or Ron Paul - INCLUDING DENNIS KUCINICH AND RON PAUL!
Ever increasingly, Americans realize that their anti-war, anti-global, pro-American independent desires and agenda will never be implemented via the Democratic or Republican party; including via Democrat Kucinich or Republican Paul. This is why a recent CNN poll resulted as follows:
WATCH THIS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zjkFm-mL6I
CNN Poll
42% - Independent
33% - Democrat
25% - Republican
I've asked many Kucinich and Ron Paul supporters, "If your guy doesn't win your party's nomination, who are you going to support?"
Most reply: "Oh, if Kucinich doesn't win the Democratic nomination, then Kucinich will run as an independent and I'll vote for Kucinich as an independent." or, "Oh, if Ron Paul doesn't win the Democratic nomination, then Ron Paul will run as an independent and I'll vote for Ron Paul as an independent." Didn't these people get the memo? Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul have repeatedly, repeatedly publicly stated they will NOT be leaving their party and running as an independent! Kucinich and Paul have repeatedly stated this on CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC....over and over..through the years even......Kucinich and Ron Paul have repeatedly stated they will never run as an independent, under any circumstances, period.
So what are Kucinich supporters and Ron Paul supporters going to do? Just keep on supporting Kucinich and Paul every four years? To the exclusion of advancing any independent agenda/platform? To the delight of the DNC and RNC? Do Kucinich supporters believe that Kucinich will one day "change" the Democratic Party? Anyone who knows anything about politics KNOWS that Dennis Kucinich is NOT going to be imposing ANY PART OF Dennis' independent agenda on an unwilling, hardened corporate party. You can fughettaboutit. The same goes for Ron Paul. Ditto.
MY POINT IS:
REAL CHANGE will never come on the wings of the Democratic or Republican party;
Kucinich nor Paul will NEVER bring REAL CHANGE to their parties;
Democratic and Republican party leaders like to see voters supporting party candidates Kucinich and Paul, because that means they don't have to worry about a THIRD FORCE ARISING FROM WE THE PEOPLE!
REAL CHANGE will come only when We The People begin supporting independents who support, champion and fight for an independent voter platform;
The longest journey begins with a single step - so let's get to steppin!
Remember, Dennis Kucinich supports Democratic incumbents over independent challengers each and every time!
Remember, Ron Paul supports Republican incumbents over independent challengers each and every time!
Think about that the next time you consider contributing to Kucinich or Ron Paul.
Support independent candidates and an independent voter platform, like independent Cindy Sheehan.
