In the end of August 1939 a group of  seemingly Polish soldiers attacked  the German border station in Gleiwitz and killed several German soldiers. Immediately it was proclaimed as  Polish  war attack and on Sept 1, 1939  WWII officially started  by the  German invasion  of Poland . In 6 years Germany came out of that war destroyed and partitioned and Europe lost 50 mln people.On one of the Nuremberg Interrogations the material witness Alfred Naudgoks  testified that he was the man who  put  Polish uniforms on the group of German special ops who then attacked and killed those German soldiers and  after that he killed them all as witnesses.  He called himself  'The man who started the war'.

Bush was obviously lieing today, look at his body language and trying to spit out the words. The video from a high-powered lens showed the "attack gunboats" barely more than speedboats, a mile or more away, then the CLINCHER, an electronically over-dubbed " YOU ARE GOING TO EXPLODE" coming in on the radio, CLASSIC TREASON, if proven. The day before McCain needed a win, then it's backed up today with a report out of Iraq the Al Queda is "TRYING TO ERASE THE SECURITY GAINS..." again, no media hardly connecting the dots. Pathetic.

You make a good point.  However, considering this administration's track record -they more than deserve the intense scrutiny and doubt of everyone concerned about the implications of the so-called 'provocative act'.  That way, at the least, we can be sure of the claim's validity before the blind march into Bagdad, er, Tehran... sorry.

but there are young Americans too small to vote whose Constitution is in danger and whose elders are playing fantasy games rather than bringing down the right sort of intense scrutiny.

The level of general purpose protective paranoia with respect to Bush and Cheney is high enough. But the level of healthy concern for the precedents that the Bush and Cheney era will leave behind for future Presidents if impeachment doesn't produce repudiation is still way too low.

The sort of intense scrutiny that is required now is impeachment hearings in the House Judiciary Committee.

The sort of paranoia that would be useful would be the sort that would cause parents and people who value the rule of law and the constitution to wonder what Democratic Congressional Representatives such as

will decide when the question of whether impeachment hearings should take place or not is put to them.

A healthy sort of paranoia might be concerned that Conyers and Nadler are already committed to preventing or quietly burying hearings and that these lesser known members of the House Judiciary Committee might need some citizen support or at least curiousity as to their views on holding impeachment hearings or whether they might be hoping the whole thing quietly goes away saving them from matching courage with conviction and oath with execution.

Ahmadinejad is smart enough to know that this is not the right moment for  provocations. He knows the implications of every move and the dangers  of haphazard actions. He is not a warmonger in the first place and can not afford a useles destructive war against some  brainless idiots bent on stirring up a Third World War.  It is not him who has sent the most powerful armada to nuke a nation and steal its oil. Your arguments are correct but don't apply to this particular situation. On the other hand he has the means to repel agression and do a lot of damage if attacked.

Only Rove could calculate 2 stories in 2 days to strike fear in voters again, the independents who had their minds on an imploding economy and forgot the Neocons and McCain can " KEEP YOU SAFE" It didn't matter where the votes went, but they were diverted from Obama, he's the one they needed to derail.
