Dick Cheney starts it off with a call to a longtime Halliburton employee, Joe, who has recently resigned. He's working as a "consultant" in the Middle East, say, Dubai or Kuwait. The call sets off a trip to Iran where Joe uses his construction contacts to make a connection with a captain in the Iranian Navy.

Joe has been authorized to offer up to $20 million to cut a deal to have a group of small Iranian Navy gunboats do a dance with a US Naval vessel. The money comes out of a cash budget that's part of the Iraq "surge" project. Most of that money is going to local Sunni leaders to pay for "construction projects and security."

Joe cuts a deal with Captain Yusuf for $10 million. Captain Yusuf offers a million to each of the captains of the five vessels in the fleet he's put together. They'll keep half a million for themselves and give another half a million to the upper level crew. Lowest level crew members won't even know what they're getting into.

The plan is to create an incident. Captain Yusuf is informed that the deal is already set up with the US Navy, that he can't say anything, but this project has been approved at the highest levels in the US. He is assured that if he stays 200 metres away. A mile away, there's a civilian fishing boat. It has some unusual radio gear on it. Someone on the fishing boat radios to the US Naval vessel a threat that they will be blown up, pretending the message is coming from one of the gunboats.

Problem is, the Naval vessel's commander is not in the loop. Joe lied to Yusuf. Cheney's plan is to provoke an incident.

Fortunately, the commander exercises restraint. He doesn't want to be the one to start a war. Still, he does train the guns on the boats. As soon as Yusuf sees this, the deal has gone to a place that was never discussed. He takes off.

A crazy scenario? What do you think? Is this beyond the kind of thing we KNOW that the CIA and rogue or fully authorized operatives for past Republican presidents have done?

Discretionary cash war funding that doesn't ahve to be accounted for-- priceless.

This false flag ruse is not a new idea. It has happened again and again. Why don't the corpsestream media mention this and put the incident in context?

This is exactly what I'm talking about, when people say it is too late for impeachment, and I reply-- they could start another war. This incident is one more reason to impeach.
