Hey, Senator Kerry, Answer the Nagging Questions

Dear Senator John Kerry:

We never got to hear all your answers to Andrew Meyer's questions before police drug him off and Taser tagged him.

We did hear you, Senator Kerry, say that you had read Greg Palast's book Armed Madhouse. Palast duly detailed how it was known on election day that there were widespread irregularities and that Bush was trying to steal the election again.

We didn't hear you answer Meyer if you knew that you had been elected president. Senator, you further confused us as the student was being hauled away and Tasered you said "Unfortunately, he's not available to come up here and swear me in as president." At least, I'm pretty sure that's what you said because it's hard to hear you for the college student screaming in pain.

Does that mean, your honor, that you know that you were actually elected president? Or were you merely being an arrogant, cold-hearted snot?

But when did you first know that you had been actually elected president? You said that you had read Palast's book. Was the election stolen or not? And, if what Palast presents is true, did you know that you had won but still conceded?

While we're at it, Senator, let me ask you about a persistent rumor, repeated on both the left and right. Did the Democrats really want to win the White House in 2004? Or, did you want Bush to be stuck with the mess while you continued bashing away? All the time, of course, you Democrats do nothing too controversial like take a stand on Iraq or question Bush too hard. Are you Democrats just playing it safe and waiting for Hillary to win in a cakewalk in '08?

Which brings us to another one of Meyer's questions. Why won't you Democrats impeach Bush and Cheney? You know they stole the election. You know they lied us into Iraq where the only thing flowing more freely than blood are their buddies making big bucks off war profiteering.

Meyer's final question had to do with Bush and you both being members of the secret, elitist Skull and Bones society at Yale. What I think he was asking is something like are you in cahoots with the establishment? You remember that term from your grandstanding, attention-seeking anti-war years, don't you, Senator? Better yet, have you become the establishment you once sought to bring down? Because looking at the video, you looked ever bit as authoritarian and royalist as Richard Nixon.

So those are some of the questions OpEd readers would like to hear answered. But I'm sure they will add their own as they email you. Granted, it's a bit of a hassle. You have to go to your official senate web site and fill out a form. But don't be surprised if they are a lot more Andrew Meyer types out there who just will not settle for condescension and snideness as answers to tough questions.

Can't wait to hear from you,

Richard Mathis

Bnswer the questions

Better still, get SOMEONE  to challenge him in the Democratic primaries when he runs for re-election.  Even though Massachusetts voters re-elect with amazing regularity,  Kerry needs to be pounded on this for the rest of his public life.  Mr. "Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda".
