For OpEdNews: Ramon Puga - Writer

The president and congress swear an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. The Constitution states all treaties signed by the US are the law of the land. Americans, wake up and see what's going down.

"Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment"- rescinded

"Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty"- rescinded

"Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty"- rescinded

"Ban on Weapons in Space"- rescinded

"Kyoto Protocol"- limits global warming- rescinded

"Geneva Convention"- bans targeting civilians and sets rules for treatment of POWs- obsolete

"Nuremberg Charter"- wars of aggression are crimes- ignored

"United Nations Charter"- ignored

"Bill of Rights"- rescinded

"Posse Comitatus Act"- limits use of federal troops against citizens- overridden

"Habeas Corpus"- right to trial by jury- rescinded

"Universal Declaration of Human Rights"- ignorded

Look at what replaces the above:

"Unitarian Presidency", "I am the decider"- in violation of Constitution

"Revised 1807 Insurrection Act"- right to declare martial law, suspension of all civil rights- in violation of Bill of Rights and Universal Declaration of Human Rights

"Real ID Act"- national ID cards to track movements, activities, & transactions- police state- in violation of Bill of Rights

"Total Information Awareness": Dept of Defense database on citizens- invasion of privacy, in violation of Constitution

"Extraordinary Rendition" & "enemy combatant"- lose of civil rights, in violation of Bill of Rights, Universal Declaration of Human Rights and International Law

"USA PATRIOT Act" & "Military Commissions Act"- in violation of Bill of Rights, Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and Geneva Convention

"embedded reporters"- lose of free press

"Pre-emptive War"- in violation of UN Charter

"Perpetual War on Terror"- in violation of Constitution

"Anthrax Attacks" against newsmen and senators who opposed Iraq war- unsolved

"Operation Shock and Awe" & "Shake and Bake"- in violation of Geneva Convention, UN Charter, and Chemical Weapons Ban

"Abu Ghraib" & "Guantanamo"- in violation of Convention against Torture & Geneva Convention

"Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty"- not signed

"International Landmine Treaty"- not signed

"Chemical Weapons Ban"- not signed

"Biological Weapons Ban"- not signed

"International Criminal Court"- not recognized

The "Unitarian President" can unilaterally decide who has civil rights and what treaties and laws he will recognize? How far have we come, and how low will we go, before "We the People" say enough to "Absolute Despotism"?
