My wife calls it the Magic Prayer Painting. Begun in 2004 fall and completed in spring 2005 it contained portraits of Bush, Cheney, Rove, Rumsfeld, DeLaye, Robertson, Fallwell, Bauer, Wolfowitz, Rich, Scalia, Liebermann, and Bolton. My wife made me remove the current Pope. I since added weekend Gonzales. I am fast running out of room on the canvas, but will add as many as necessary.
The Curse of/on Gonzales It was a curse he brought upon himself. The curse that dog's the arrogant, especially the arrogant which have nothing over which to be so.
I started this article asking for Gonzales resignation or firing this IS when after writing the title and first paragraph my wife called to say he resigned. I quickly rewrote the first line to what you now see here and added the last line of the next paragraph to announce the resignation. One merely has to read either of the two below and others to see the prayer ritual which has included and brought down all, now except 3 people originally in the painting from it's inception in Fall 2004 to Spring 2005.
On August 21st 2007 at 00:25:52, I entered into the queue my story listed below. I also prepared a portrait/political cartoon of Alberto Gonzales for later placement in my Painting, To Hell In A Hand Basket. On August 23rd/24th, I entered the portrait, onto the painting in Dreamweaver and Yesterday, Sunday, August 26th in the AM, I added it to the website and placed on my article below with a subtitle; The Nature and Efficacy of Prayer, Comey, Gonzales, God, And Jesus. Below are two previous articles I wrote on Gonzales last week, in reference to J D Ashcroft, in reverse order.
I have not, as yet this early AM heard what the reason for the resignation was, but I suppose yet another will be "...going to spend more time with my family...." I don't know his religion, but I would suggest, instead or as well, he spend more time with his confessor. AHHH, now as I write I have the radio on and they are speaking about it and it appears that all believe as Rob Kall predicted Gonzales successor would be Michael Chertoff, A Harvard man and currently Homeland Security Chief, who sat on the Circuit Court of Appeals for New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania and the Virgin Islands. Chertoff was an assistant attorney general in the Justice Department's criminal divisions from 2001-2003. He had been a law clerk for Supreme Court Justice William H. Brennan Jr. in 1979-1980 and an assistant US A in NY Southern District from 1983-1987, going from there to the District Court of New Jersey, as assistant US Attorney from 1987-1990 and was US Attorney until 1994, when he served as counsel to the GOP Whitewater committee investigating the Clinton's A negative and perhaps the reason Mrs. Clinton made the sole nay vote when he was nominated for the appeals court in 2003.
When I first saw Mr. Gonzales smirking at the congress, daring them, provoking them with hubristic comments I knew he had to go and began my prayer vigil for him to do something publicly stupid enough to make him ignominious history. I knew it was only a matter of time, thanks to God. Arrogant people always fall from their perches. Now, if we could convert or replace Nancy Pelosi we might get rid of the rest of the Anti-Constitutionalists. Something voters need to comprehend in Nancy Pelosi's case, never send a girl to do a Woman's job.

Senator Chuck Schumer invited the President to come visit and discuss the options for Gonzales' successor. The Dems were united in their joy at the resignation and even Republican Senator Arlen Spector said, "I'm glad he's stepping down so the department can move forward with its important work."
Curley Bill Brosius, the Texas gunslinger, which Wyatt Earp dispatched in the early 1980's to his eternal whatever, had an interesting comment about the exiting of what he saw as corrupt law in Tombstone, I repeat it now to Gonzales, with nary a tear in my eye, "Well... bye, now."
