I do wish those who opposes a campaign against Iran (I'm among them) would stop hyperventilating about the subject. The U.S. is not, repeat not, going to bomb. Bombing won't take out the Iranian nuke facilities (which are dispersed, deep underground, and often near population centers). Even Bush and Cheney know this. A war against Iran would require a ground campaign, which we don't have the forces for. A draft would be necessary to raise the ground forces needed to defeat Iran. Does anybody think this administration, in its seventh year and with an election cycle coming up, is going to start a campaign it hasn't got the forces to conduct? The Congress and the people wouldn't stand for it, in the first place. Secondly, even the Bushites aren't stupid enough to start another war when Iraq is going badly. The neocons and the Israel lobby got one war--they're not going to get another one out of this administration. Let's get real and start worrying about other things.
Please understand, the Iranians ARE supporting forces that kill Americans in Iraq. They ARE seeking to develop nuclear weapons. The solution to these problems is to wind up the Iraq adventure and seek a rapprochement with Iran. The situation is analagous to the Vietnam War and China in 1971-72. The Chinese were supplying North Vietnam; Nixon still went to Peking. The U.S. needs to follow its national interests. At present it is in our interest to make nice with Iran. Lt. Felix Moncla, "Gene," has spent decades since his capture by the ET in 1953, in cold storage somewhere in outer space.
The ET are demonstrating a curious way of entering openly into the life of this planet.
They have made their position clear to any who have need to know: Don't attempt to start a nuclear war. Lt. Moncla is returning sometime in the near future, ET is planning on sending him back to earth. That will leave one open cold storage unit.
If you attempt to fly and drop a nuclear bomb to start a nuclear war, you may be beamed up and placed in an oxygen rich fluid in a storage unit at 34 degrees Fahrenheit, waiting to be unwrapped at some time in the future.
Remember Felix is coming home, so that leaves at least one cold storage unit open. Consider the lifestyle that you will have in hibernation, somewhere in space.
They don't have to seize/occupy the whole country, just the Khuzestan region, where the majority of the oil is. That's the gameplan, the Khuzestan Gambit. All else is smoke and mirrors. The endgame on the "Grand Chessboard" has quite a few moves left. The propaganda war in advance of the shooting war is already gathering steam.
