Iowa GOP Presidential Debate: A Republican's Review.

I am a registered Republican, but like most people in the country, I do not believe that there is any difference between a Democrat and a Republican except how they try to get the money from your pockets to theirs. My story “I am Ashamed to Call Myself Republican” outlines some of my concerns.

But today I have seen and heard “promises” that if can be combined and become facts gives me hope that We the People have a chance. But it also points out while the candidates understand and are aware of the problems, will they really do anything to resolve them?

I have to say first that Alan Keyes brought the passion for his beliefs to the stage and while his message was, for the most part, on target, his delivery was not Presidential. Maybe they could use Alan Keys and a set of jumper cables to energize John McCain.

The most important thing that I heard from the candidates came from Fred Thompson when he spoke of the Judicial Branch setting social policy. As most of my readers know, I have for years fought to educate the American public of the agenda driven courts intentional and criminal distortion of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Additional candidates also expressed their concern about the courts. I hope that this issue comes to the forefront as it is one that is the root of all evil infused into American society and if truly addressed would remedy most of today’s social issues.

It would also seem that most candidates agree that a fair tax system is what is needed. This is Mike Huckabee issue and his word is spreading because the people have spoken. GET RID OF THE IRS!

Ron Paul had a moment that he told the truth of what is needed and that is this country re-instating the Constitution and Bill of Rights. While the Republican party diehard’s want the status quo, they need to take off the blinders and see the truth of the nation. We the People CAN change the nation without destroying it if everybody will work together for a mutually accepted compromise.

The truth be told, if all of these candidates could be crushed together we would have one true candidate, but since we can’t, how about we just list the important issues that came from the debate that would get me to vote Republican and not independent as I had planned.

  1. Make a promise; KEEP the promise no matter the excuse you have about political parties etc. If the American people elect what ever President, Democrat or Republican, if we have to endure any more years of in-fighting, we should burn Washington to the ground and start again.
  2. The Judicial Branch MUST be dismantled and rebuilt with ALL of the criminal actions against the Constitution and Bill of Rights reversed and those who used their position to betray the fundamental values of America publicly tried as the judges and prosecutors were judged at Nuremburg!
  3. That the IRS in it present form be dismantled and a fair tax system put into its place.
  4. That the will of the people and not the Presidents will dictate policy of America.

If the candidates and stick too and accomplish the above, there is hope for the nation. If they don’t or it is all lies, then we are doomed.

This is the most important election in our nation’s history because this election will determine what are the values that America stands for, equality for all or dictation at the will of a few. It’s your choice America, time to get off the couch and get involved!

Review

Although I believe your premise, there is one major difference between the two parties. The grotesque Old Party will take the money from your pocket and put it in theirs (see tax advantages of being rich) but the  Democratic Party will take the money out of your pocket and put it where it can do the best for the largest number of people (the fiscally disadvantaged) and at the same time preserve a semblance of hope for society.

Conservative prolife anti-death penalty tree hugger. Believe that less government is good government, government cannot solve anyone's personal problems, the government taking money from one group of people and giving it to another group of people is a crime, and that people should take responsibility for their own lives.

Interesting

The Fair Tax proposal as espoused by Gov Huckabee will not work and is totally naive.   I agree that the tax system needs to be seriously overhauled but the Fair Tax is definitely not the way to do it.

Our problem is not the tax system, government spending is the problem.  Cut spending and we can cut taxes and reduce the size of government.  Just changing the system of collecting the taxes with something like the Fair Tax will not solve our problems even if it actually worked.

Vote for someone who will cut taxes and reduce the size of government.  Do not vote for someone who thinks a new, expensive program that never ends is the solution to every big and little problem in this country and actively looks for new ways to increase taxes.   This country does not need any new programs, new bureaucrats, and new taxes to pay for them.

Note:  if the Democratic Congress does not pass an AMT fix, they will be toast next year because the AMT will raise taxes for 22 million people this year.  Those 22 million people will not be happy campers.  Right now the congressional leaders, as usual, are playing political games with the AMT and the delay has already impacted  returns filed next year.
