Today is a day that the American people should mark on their calendars as the day the terrorists won. On this day October 17, 2006 Mr. Bush signed the Military Commission Act of 2006. In this horrible piece of legislation, the right of habeas corpus was affectively stripped from the U.S. Constitution. I thought it was Osama and his mama that hated America because we have freedom. That’s what King George W. Bush and Dick “Tator” Cheney told us shortly after the terrorist attacks of September 11th 2001. No it was not because of our foreign policies toward the Islamic world. No their grievance against America was our freedom. So soon after the World Trade Center attacks our government started to take steps to deprive al Qaeda of that grievance. They created the USA Patriot Act. The Patriot Act, along with the Military Commission Act and the new FISA law, ensures that bin Laden and his wacky al Qaedians can’t hate us for our freedom and democracy any more because we don’t have freedom and democracy any more. Therefore I say let’s declare victory and come home from Iraq because now we are safe from the hatred of al Qaeda. Peace and Liberty through intelligence, strength and integrity.
I am a Musician, political Junkie, Father, Husband, who cares very much about the United States of America and what is being done to the Ideals and citizens of this great Nation. I want to restore the Constitution and the Bill of Rights to what the founders of this nation intended to protect us from. I was born in Niagara Falls, N.Y. and I now reside in Florida. I am tired of the media being manipulated by Faux News and right wing propaganda that leading our Democracy into the moral and financial abyss. I want the American people to wake up and take back this country to restore it to be a beacon of freedom and liberty to the world again.
