911 General Strike Gains Momentum Paging the Mainstream Media - strike911 Please Forward to Your Local Media Michael Collins “No Work, No School, No Shopping – Hit the Streets” The 911 General Strike called by a coalition of antiwar, 911 Truth, and pro impeachment groups is gaining strength with gatherings scheduled across the country and rapidly expanding activity on the Internet, where the idea originated. We see this action as one against the injustices listed on the site but also one against our own fear, apathy, and cynicism. We want this to be an opportunity for citizens to reclaim a sense of power in defining their own destiny and running our own government. http://www.strike911.org/ Truth mover 27 August 2007 Strike activities are growing by the day. Formal events are listed below but there’s more. Every citizen is empowered by this essentially leaderless, egoless movement. This is one case where the people will actually lead if they choose. The impact of major public participation would shock those in power who ignore what they see as a passive public. We recommend that everyone become an organizer for this strike. Try to link up with people in your area, have meetings, network, discuss over the internet, and plan your own creative actions for the 11th. People can help out the strike by just continuing to organize, communicate, and spread the word. http://www.strike911.org/ Truth mover 27 August 2007 The 911 General Strike takes delivering the message to a whole new level. Apparently the message sent by the 2006 elections got lost in the spam folder. Citizen reminder messages, tens of millions of them, from the public in person, by mail, email, phone, etc., weren’t enough. The general strike gives citizens a chance to show those in power it’s time to listen through “a day of personal reflection and nonviolent dissent in recognition of the course we have been on since 9/11.” The simple action plan includes – no school, no work, no buying anything (at all), and hit the streets. Indictment of a Government on Holiday A White House run by the war lobby and an absentee Congress created the following issues which unite citizens in a demand for action: http://electionfraudnews.com Michael Collins is a writer who focuses on clean elections and voting rights. No stoppage in this household That day will probably be the day I buy new running shoes. That will happen after I put in plenty of overtime at work. Part of me wishes I could have waited to buy my brand new car until then. by

General Strike I for one will honor the general strike and do my best to get everyone I know to do the same. I realize that my singular action will have little or no impact but I also know that the self-satisfaction I will gain by taking part in the strike is something that Corporate America and Big Oil cannot charge me for or the present administration take from me. In this “screw you and hurray for me” society it will be extremely difficult to get significant numbers to join the strike but it is a start. Hopefully this civil disobedience will escalate to the point major changes will take place. History shows that non-violent civil disobedience has caused change in other nations so it should work here. Non-violence is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind. It is mightier than the mightiest weapon of destruction devised by the ingenuity of man. by

Damail's Way While I'm quite certain that a general strike in America is about as likely to succeed as Congressional efforts to end the war in Iraq, I'd like to see Damail lace up those running shoes and pay a visit to his local recruiter instead of his car dealership. Surely that's a more direct way to show his support for the policies of this administration. by

I am a Retired Senior Citizen who is dedicated to this country and motivated to Learn...Know...and Have Understanding of what will best bring forth change for a better Society for All.
Any Strike Begins with Just one.. Be one who joins in ! Rome wasn't built in one day..but it did not take long to Destroy Rome. Inaction and apathy is this countries' worst enemy ( Next to bush & cheney, that is . ) If we work at it, start right now..we will be able to salvage our country and take it out of the hands of murderers and liers..and worse. Let this 9 / 11 march and the events planned...be a starting point for so many who have, thus far, pretended the Sky Wasn't falling in. And please, Damain, do the right thing...join in and help save this country from what is sure destruction at the hands of the Neo-con fascists who are pulling the reins for 'foreign agents.. So Wake UP.. it appears likely that Your fine job will not be for much longer..nor will you be able to enjoy your new shoes....unless the Population of Patriotic Citizens band together NOW..before ""THE powers that be' let loose on us another 9 / 11. Hurrah Cindy ! Go Girl !! VGF by

Keep spreading the word 9/11 sit down Everyone has to keep spreading the word. Anything you can do on 9/11 to help support a general strike will help. Don't buy anything. Don't go to work or school, if you can get away with it. Mention the strike, paper ballots or 9/11 to every stranger you meet. We can do this year after year, or quarter after quarter, until they throw us in the camps, or the public wakes up enough to take back it's government. by
