Yesterday, Rudy Giuliani officially dropped out of the 2008 presidential race, after not doing so well in Tuesday's Florida primary.
Rudy's poor primary results came as a surprise to some people, because last year he had been considered a front-runner.
A lot of pundits are blaming it on the fact that Rudy didn't bother to court the early primary states, waiting to focus instead on Florida.
But I'm hoping that there's another explanation.
I'm hoping that people ignored him at the polls because they're sick and tired of hearing about 9/11 and how frightened they should be.
You see, Rudy ran on a 9/11 platform. As Senator Joe Biden had so cleverly observed, "There's only three things he mentions in a sentence: a noun, and a verb, and 9/11."
Rudy seemed to believe that 9/11 had enabled him to prove his fitness as a leader in the "war on terror", and that this was reason enough to elect him.
George W. Bush won reelection in 2004 on a similar platform -- by touting 9/11 and terrorism, and convincing the sheep that only he could keep us safe.
I like to think that America has woken up and can see through that kind of scare-mongering now.
I like to think that Americans are tired of being frightened into supporting bad politics and bad politicians.
I like to think that this is another reason why Rudy lost his White House bid.
And I hope that this voter lucidity will last through November, and that Americans will this time not vote against their own (and the country's) best interests.

He destroyed every shred of forensic evidence from 9/11 site so as to impede any serious and honest investigation into what really happened and what type of explosives had been used in bringing down the Towers. Destroying evidence is active participation in a crime. Truth is coming out and we will know, sooner rather than later, his part in staging the crime of the century.

I was hoping Rudy would get the nomination so we could ask him repeatedly just who it was who warned him not to go to his command post in Building 7 that morning. Trying to parlay the biggest security failure into the presidency is the most cynical thing imaginable, and I would have liked to have seen him attempt it so that we can see just how it is that terrorism is being used in this country to further political ambitions and some seriously nefarious intentions...

Rudy bowed out because of money troubles. Not the fact that he has none, but how can he use it. The Bush people know this especially in Florida. Rudy knows all about the money they heisted from the WTC, but how can they use it? To many many eyes checking where sources of money come from, and Florida didn't want to start wasting by sharing their cash on him, when George has made a committment to McCain, whether McCain knows about the WTC demolishion job or not. They want Rudy to hang low now. He played his chapter in the crime, and the story goes on. Maybe Rudy isn't really out of the picture as their plot boils to a conclusion

I agree with some of the previous comments that the WTC was brought down by preplanted explosives so that Bush-Cheny and the neo cons could implement their agenda during the wave of hysteria after their new Pearl Harbor. However you don't seem to realize that Bush was never elected. The Injustices on the Supreme Court ordered us to stop counting the ballots and appointed Bush in 2000. The news media went back and counted the uncounted ballots, using six different standards for including ballots in the count. Under the four standards where there were uniform standards statewide for accepting a ballot, Kerry won. Bush won only under under the two methods of accepting ballots where the differing standards used in particular counties were used. Furthermore, Florida outsourced the job of purging the voter rolls of convicted felons and the companies that bid the lowest only checked the records about who had been CHARGED with a felony without incurring the additional expense of checking further to see if they had been CONVICTED. Florida used this method to purge Black voters, and since at least 90$ would have voted Democratic, Gore lost 90.000 votes, dwarfing the few hundred votes by which Gore when all the ballots were accepted or rejected under a consistent, uniform standard.
Although Bush gained a surge in popularity after 9/11, by 2004, people had had enough of the Rethugs and the neo cons agenda. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. wrote a long, detailed article documenting how the Rethugs stole the 2004 election. Remember that the news reported that Bush had lost the election on the evening of election day. But in the A.M hours of the following day, the results changed and Bush was reported to have won. The new changed reslts were reported only in the states that had already adopted the touch screen, computer voting machines. Computers can be easily hacked The exit polls, in which people say how they HAD voted rather than how they expect to vote, all reported that Kerry had won. The discrepancy between the exit polls and the results reported officially are precisely the means the U.N. uses to determine whether elections have been stolen in places such as Serbia. The laws of statistics in the United States are the same as in the rest of the world. In Ohio there was a shortage of voting machines in Democratic leaning, inner city precincts and a surplus in suburban, Republican leaning precincts. These are only a few of the many proofs that the 2004 elections were stolen.

Thank GOODNESS he and myopic rhetoric are out of this, it is encouraging to see that his "Terror, terror, terror..." pitch fell flat in the marketplace, you would have thought that he was running for Chertoff's job.
